If Quillen from Highlands recovers 100% from his knee surgery, the kid will be a stud LBer. Dressman from Highlands is another stud Lber returning for Highlands. Those two, along with the two Bruns boys, the Bowden kid who looked really good on the D line this year and New and Murray (both of whom got a lot of playing time in the defensive secondary) should create an exceptionally good D for Highlands this year.

When did that happen? I thought he broke his ankle in the Withrow game and Dr Gates fixed it. I didn't know he had knee surgery as well. He is a tough kid he will be back strong as ever. He has been in the weight room all winter and has really gotten huge.

My bad. For some reason I thought it was his knee. Glad to read he's made great progress. Kid had a great sophomore year and I really hated to see him miss most of his junior year.

Bradley is just a solid role player. The stars are the Nuss's, Vocke, Staten, Davis (will be), and probably the new guy based on what I'm hearing. I'm sure I'm missing some, but that's off the top of my head.

 

Do you think Davis will play defense? With the QB situation, I kind of doubt it and hope he doesn't. Is the new guy going to play defense? I thought the defense was pretty much set with all/most players returning and he was going to play center.

 

I agree with Bradley comment. I think Evertt (sp) with his size will be a force at DE. I hear that Verkamp is getting huge in the weight room. Staten has been a stud for 2 year Nuss is a very good linebacker. As deep as they are, I wouldn't let Vocke or Davis on the defensive side of the ball unless I absolutely had to.

I'd say hes more than a role player if he was a allstar.

The best two defensive players in the area next season will be Zeke Pike and Drake Bruns. Both are D1 athletes and already have several offers.

 

I'd also add Devin Bruns from Highlands as well.

Ok. Then Evan was a DT and very, very good as well. I apologize. As long as he doesn't suffer any setbacks, he will be one of the best DL in NKY. He is a monster. Martin was a senior then, correct?

 

Martin was also a Junior, he is a very good player. He'll be a 4 year starter at DT which is a very rare feat at Newcath.

His speed is needed in the secondary 4) Bradley is a role player, however, a very critical piece to the puzzle which was apparently recognized by some 5) I also heard the same things and agree with your assessment of every player you mentioned.

What if Vocke's best opportunity to play at the next level is on defense? In that case it would help his cause (and the team) if he played some defense. Injuries can happen any time and anywhere in football so you can't try to play around them. You just play and hope they don't happen.
