February 10, 201115 yr Author Don't get ahead of yourself. 10 out of 25 in a focus group. Way too small of a sample. No question. The fact that there was more than 1 says it all IMO.
February 10, 201115 yr Correct. It doesn't matter what he is. What matters in this is that 40% of the caucus goers believe he is a Muslim when he clearly isn't. That level of ignorance from a group you would expect to be somewhat knowledgable is much scarier to me than if we had a Muslim president. The Voice of Reason speaks again.

February 10, 201115 yr Author As the other thread pointed out, we as a nation are growing more and more ignorant. This is different than the Egypt poll I cited. In order to believe that President Obama is a Muslim you have to listen to others who say it or read others who proclaim it. You have to be active and have thought in order to arrive at such a conclusion. I'm not sure which is more troubling.

There's always conspiracy theorists out there who will believe any type of way out stuff.
February 10, 201115 yr I'm curious, why should it matter if he is a Muslim, Christian, Hindu or Buddhist? The reason I ask is because the US Constitution states specifically that a religious test can not be required for holding any office. Do we believe in the Consitution as the rule for this country or don't we? Correct. It doesn't matter what he is. What matters in this is that 40% of the caucus goers believe he is a Muslim when he clearly isn't. That level of ignorance from a group you would expect to be somewhat knowledgable is much scarier to me than if we had a Muslim president. If Constitutionally it doesn't matter what his religious choice happens to be, why then is it scary if some group thinks he's a Muslim? I don't see the "scary" part.
February 10, 201115 yr If Constitutionally it doesn't matter what his religious choice happens to be, why then is it scary if some group thinks he's a Muslim? I don't see the "scary" part. The level of ignorance from a group encharged with selecting our leaders is what is scary.

You have to be active and have thought in order to arrive at such a conclusion. I'm not sure which is more troubling. I agree with this. I have no idea if I believe he's a Muslim or Christian because I have never looked at anything having to do with that. I will say though that just because he says a Christian doesn't mean people have to believe that. He says some things at times that aren't true.
February 10, 201115 yr The level of ignorance from a group encharged with selecting our leaders is what is scary. Oh, I have a feeling if you dug very deep you'd find far more scary issues with that group and others. Not unlike the hundreds of exit interviews after the last presidential election.
February 10, 201115 yr The level of ignorance from a group encharged with selecting our leaders is what is scary. About a hundred million of them.
February 10, 201115 yr Why did he not want his middle name said during the election and no one to refer to it. Obviously because it's Hussein. A name is just a name my friend.
February 10, 201115 yr Oh, I have a feeling if you dug very deep you'd find far more scary issues with that group and others. Not unlike the hundreds of exit interviews after the last presidential election. Or before, like the lady who loved Barack Obama and planned to vote for him and his running mate, Sarah Palin?

I will say though that just because he says a Christian doesn't mean people have to believe that. He says some things at times that aren't true. Just like most Christians.
February 10, 201115 yr Just like most Christians. His point is, he lies about other things, so why is it so outlandish to think he's lying about his faith? FWIW, I could care less what his religion is.
February 10, 201115 yr Just like most Christians. Its pretty safe to assume people from every religion lie.
