I believe that the draw of the tournament is crucial. I have a feeling it will be between Ashland and West Carter.

I hope every game comes down to the last play of the game. And it falls on the coaches to draw up that last second play. Great for the fans. And I hope the best teams win. That way we are rep. by the best of the 16th reg.

Nope, The Tomcats are a clear favorite this year with Elliott, Rowan and West barking at the door. The brackets will determine a lot.

 

The Devils have to be considered a dark darkhorse along with Lewis Co. That won't keep me from pulling for them along with my Eagles from Fairview.:thumb:

I don't want a darkhorse or anything like that to represent our 16th region. No upsets. I want each game on the way to the region championship game to be close and exciting for the fans. But I want the best team to win each game! If Ashland is the best we have I'll be rooting for the cats. My RAMS arn't to good this year. And I doubt they make it very far. Now next year when we regroup and hopefully we have a better competitive team. I may rethink all this!! lol

Yep, I know that there is much to be done before those teams are decided, but let's hear what you think. I'll give my take:

 

1. Ashland (17-4) Tomcats are 11-0 within the region. Anyone with a brain has to say that they're the favorites. They have a tough stretch starting tonight hosting Elliott Co. and some kid named Knipp. Then Mason, Rowan and West remaining.

 

2. Rowan (14-4) 9-1 in the region. Maybe the Vikings are starting to hit their stride. Hung tough with a questionable ending to lose to GRC. Beat Mason. Thacker says his defense never takes a night off, we'll see.

 

3. West Carter (14-5) 13-4 in the region, and frankly play as hard as anyone I've seen within our region. Coach Webb does a good job with this group, Rayburn is healthy, Brown is a deep threat. Wouldn't count them out by any stretch.

 

4. Elliott (10-6) 7-2 in the region, if Ison can keep the ATV upright the rest of the way, he and Knipp are enough to take anyone out along the way.

Sounds like it might have. Kinda like Rowan's did against Menifee. Plenty of parity in this region. They play again it wouldn't be surprising if the score was reversed. Congrats to Rowan Co. on the win.

I have stayed away from posting much this season, but, after reading the Ashland Daily Independent on Monday, kind of thought Wing and Townsend might come out inspired. If those two continue to perform the way the way they did tonight, with the supporting cast they have I think the Vikings should receive some votes for front runner consideration. Wing 28 pts, 13 rebs; Townsend 21 pts, 9 ast. against a State Top 20. Congrats to Rowan on the big win tonight.
