February 16, 201115 yr Should be a fun winter... It sucks they couldn't work something out but I am glad they didn't commit $30 mil a year for 10 years.
February 16, 201115 yr Supposedly the Cardinals offered top 10 money but not top 5 money. That's an absolute slap in the face IMO. The ARod and Texiera contracts screwed a bunch of stuff up, so I can understand not top money, but has to be at least top 5.
February 16, 201115 yr They have a long term answer at first that already makes a lot of money. One of the two could DH or play LF or RF. I wouldn't even really care about defense with those two hitting with A-Rod in the 3,4,5.

February 17, 201115 yr That's an absolute slap in the face IMO. The ARod and Texiera contracts screwed a bunch of stuff up, so I can understand not top money, but has to be at least top 5.The Cardinals don't have the same financial resources as the Yankees ...
February 21, 201115 yr I've thought about this for a few days. AP is the one of the best, if not the best players in the game. If your the best, you should be paid as the best. I can see it. BUT, when it all comes down to it, what is the difference between making 25 million and 30 million per year? Your still filthy rich. AND, eight years is an aweful long time for a team to be willing to keep someone. I think that in the end, he will negotiate with the Cardinals.
