Eastern, Ballard and Clark County stayed 1-2-3 in Dave Cantrall’s boys’ basketball ratings this week, but Lexington Catholic and Tates Creek moved up to Nos. 4 and 5.

Clark County had a good weekend, winning the Toyota Classic at Scott County.

Tates Creek beat previous No. 4 Jeffersontown 57-44 in the Joe B. Hall Prep Classic on Saturday.

Seventh Region has 5 of the top 8.

Christian Co. 10-8 and #11 in the state??????????

They've played a ridiculously tough schedule. They also just beat the 14th ranked team, Bowling Green by 30.

I don't totally agree with these standings. 1 through 10 pretty solid. You could flip them around a few here and there but for the most part I agree the top 10. Now, Christian Co., and then New Cath ranked higher than Dixie Heights? Someone let this fellow know what's going on up here in the ninth region, please! I don't know if I would put Holmes in the 11 to 20 rankings or not, but i feel they could knock off a couple of those teams. Where you at here Walter?

No way could Christian Co. could knock off any of the top 5 teams in the Ninth region. With that record they could win the NFC West though.

That's funny, because Cantrall lives in the 9th Region.

Be careful what you say. Last year in the Sweet 16, Christian County beat the 9th Region rep-Newport. The year before they lost to the state champion Holmes Bulldogs, but played them very tough.

I don't know about that one. Personally, I'm doubting any team in the 9th would be favored against Christian (save maybe Dixie Heights and, to a even lesser extent, Holmes). Some of the events that Christian has played in this season are no joke, and their team is likely just catching up to others around the state considering they started a month behind many while some of their better players enjoyed a run to the state championship in football.

Could the 7th region be anymore of a "buzzsaw"? And I think these teams get much better as the season goes on from playing each other. Wow.

Agreed there. You'll find few, if any, who'd wanna take you up on debating that one.

PCC does not belong on this list, even if they're at #24.
