It sounds like Dixie played pretty will this weekend, and are the team to beat in the 9th.

But looking at the schedule and I may be wrong, but it looks like CovCath played 3 games within 24 hours.

It was a tournament so Dixie probably played multiple games within 24 hours as well. But it doesn't matter how many they played. Dixie is a terrible match up for CCH. I see no way that CCH can beat them.

Dixie played their first game on Wednesday and CovCath got snowed out on the Thursday, but I do not disagree with on the match up

I remember the Dixie vs. Dunbar score being in the paper the same day as the CCH vs. GRC score but I don't know when those games were played. I just assumed they played the same day since they were in the paper the same day. Maybe CCH had to play 3 while Dixie played 2 in the same time frame. I don't know but like I said, CCH just doesn't have the team to beat Dixie IMO. Dixie is just as strong as CCH inside and much, much better than CCH on the perimeter.

Dixie played Friday as well as CCH. Then CCH had to play Saturday morning. So they did end up playing three and Dixie two. However I dont believe that would have changed the outcome of the game. I think Dixie has the stronger basketball club and could have handled CCH regardless of how many games either team had played.

Dixie played on the 19th, 21st, & 22nd

CovCath played on the 21st & then two games on the 22nd

Friday night, Saturday morning, & then Saturday night against Dixie.

You could be right. However, I've never put any stock into results of 3rd round consolation games when it's the 3rd game in as many (or fewer) days.

Ryle killed Conner at the Lloyd tourney in the 3rd round and it was played in the small gym with no fans there. So what happened when they met for a "real" game? 2 OT.

I can't wait for the atmosphere at Dixie when the two Colonels teams play. It will be a great time.

When they meet again on February 10th @ Dixie, Dixie will have played Ryle at home on the 7th and Covcath will have played Mason Co. at home on the 8th. Both teams should be well rested for the game on the 10th with the outcome showing a much truer measure of their difference barring any unforeseen injuries.

Not sure why any coach would want to display all his weapons during a regular season game with Regions right around the corner. I think we might put to much emphasis on this match up.

There's some truth to your point but I'd assume that Coach L really wanted to make a statement in this game.

For a team like CCH who may have a confidence/identity issue, you have to go after as hard as you can to show yourself you can do it. No holding back.
