Actually I jest, the field is not that bad. It is different from alot of the new fields that are going in that many have gotten use to. It is Field Turf which is a different quality than most of what you see. It is the same quality field and was actually put in the same time as the Detriot Lions field.

 

Maybe that's what it was. At the time the only "modern" turf fields I had walked on were Lexington Catholic and Papa John's Stadium. The Highlands field just seemed a lot different, which I took to mean it was used and starting to wear. I'm glad you've clarified that for me - perhaps it wasn't as bad as I thought.

Highlands has Field Turf, which is the same thing that Papa Johns, Lexington Catholic, Beechwood and Belfry have, among others. Theirs was one of the first to be installed, so I am curious about the life span of the field at HHS.

I would personally be more concerned about the team playing on the field surface , than on the field surface itself . ( But thats just me ! )

Whats wrong with the current turf is it covered in cake and blue kool-aid or something?

WIth a little bit of maintenance Highlands still has a good 5 yrs left. Heck a bad shape Field Turf field is still better then a great shape grass field on a muddy night. JMO.
