What year did these two graduate?

 

Eviston graduated in '97 and, yes, he would have started over PJ Sauer. Smith in '02, and he would have started after Gino graduated, and, if you are to believe Mueller who coached him in the All-Star game, should have been more highly recruited. Just to make you feel better, those two are from Ft Thomas just like Diehl.

Newport had an O lineman make the list but there best Offensive lineman was on neither of them. Dan Runion has been about as solid and O lineman as it gets in NKY. Hasnt given up a sack in this season or last and is a punishing run blocker. He is prolly an All state candidate, and did make this list. Interesting. :irked:

Not sure really, but the longer it goes the less chance of him going D1 I would say.

Ellison is alot better all around qb......What was the score of the CovCath and NCC game????????I believe NCC took a beating......... :eek: :eek:

Valid point but I believe that if these two teams had met at the end of the year that we would have seen a much better and closer game. Not taking anything away from Ellison at all but the offensive system (Chuck and duck) in which he played resulted in some very inflated numbers. I realize that in order for that type of offense to work you need a good QB which Ellison was but if Diehl is in that type of system he would have had similar if not better numbers. Just my opinion though. They are both nice Qbs and not much separates them.

No way. Brady deserved to be there. Sutton was good, but so was Brady. He had an awesome year and deserves to be first team.

Im not taking anything away from Brady, but Brett had 6 interceptions (2 more that were called back 1 vs. NCC and one vs. Beechwood i believe and they should have been interceptions) and with the schedual they played there is no way Brett should have not made first team. Had covcath played him both ways i imagine he would have been one heck of a threat as reciever. Think about it Brett Sutton, Peter Sutton, and Kurt Bovard. WOW. Brett had a hell of a year and not to take anything away from Brady, but i believe brett should be ahead of him

BZ - the "chuck and duck" or spread offense was drastically different in the beginning of the season than the last half. The Colonels went to a running game a conservative passing game. In reality, Drew threw 4 more passes per game than Sam did.

 

They are both nice Qbs and not much separates them.

Runion's not that good... And Diehl and Ellison are both tough. I think Sam Diehl should get the edge because he is helping his team to peak at the right time in their season.

Hey NCCBreds the Runion kid is a talented linemen and so is Diehl and Ellison. Do you think it is right for you to be putting this kid down? Sure NewCath is still in the playoffs but it takes a team to get there not just two linemen. Newport had a good offensive line and got further in the playoffs than anyone expected. Runion was a big part of that line and sure he doesn't make the entire line by himself and neither does Diehl and Ellison. They all got help up there. It's bad enough that linemen usually don't much credit in the papers after a Friday night game and the QB's, RB's and WR's get most of the press. Give them so credit NCCBreds! One question for you (NCCBreds) was you a linemen?

I apologize I just got caught up in the fact that NCCBreds was not giving the Runion kid the credit he deserves. I know that Diehl and Wllison are QB's and very good at their positions. I guess like I said before just bothers me I've had an opportunity to watch Runion and then someone doesn't give him the credit he deserves. Has they used to say in a pick me up game -- my bad. :thumb:
