McGee is first team, and I'd even throw Flynn in their at 1st team, second team tops

On Kickers, Ok with Roch as #1, but Ross Uminger/Ryle was overlooked as the definite #2. He had just over 50% touchbacks, 29-31 on XPs, and 3-5 on FGs, all a very close 2nd to Roch.

Because this is subjective it is not possible to have a logical discussion about this.....

 

For example, one argues not to penalize Durbin because of Conner's offensive woes...so you peanlize Canafax because he is a very important part/contributor to a strong offensive unit. Bottom line...he has delivered and performed, consistently I am just curious as to how this process works?? It obviously is not based exclusively on stats...so that leaves athletic ability and other intangibles.

 

If we agree on this, then how are these factors weighted? You mean to tell me that Durbin, and Bovard's skills, athletic ability, etc. are greater than Canafax's??? I have seen Bovard play, not Durbin (except on cable) I think they are pretty even relative to skills, ability, etc.

 

Canafax dropped 1 pass this year...1...out of 59 chances. Before anyone questions NCC competition he was only one of three receivers to have over 100 yards against CovCath.

 

At the end of the day this is not something to get worked up over. Everyone of the young men named to the first and second team are very deserving and are great athletes.

Not a problem. I actually agree with you. You can't fault one or the other. I do think they are all very comparable and would love to have all three on my team. Congratulations to all of them, they were all very deserving.

Who is generally considered the best cover corner in NKY?

It's always surprising some of the omissions from an all-star team but congrats to all of the hard working players on this team. Special tip of the helmet to Ryle's 3 first team selections: Jerrod Babik, Mike Meade and Vince Murray. Mike was a great story in that he did not play the last couple of years and just lifted weights and improved his speed and did a great job for the Raiders this year on the D-line. Jerrod was great on defense and had some huge collision hits during the year in the secondary. Vince will be a stud on both sides of the ball next year and one of a few underclassmen ranked on the first team. Good luck to all seniors as you figure out what to do in the future.

Personally I'd take Diehl over Ellison anyday..

How does Joe not make 1st team much less 2nd team? Not to single out any of the talented players selected, but Joe starts at corner on this all-star team. Hands down. A couple of those selections make me scratch my head.

Any time you have coaches voting, there are going to be issues. How many coaches get to see all of the players? Not many. Even then, its one week. It leads to decisions/votes that some would question. Its not politics.

We generall follow this rule on here: If you're going to accuse a person/school/coaching staff of cheating or 'politics', you need to back it up rather than throwing it out there without defending it.

 

Either defend it ,name names , and give the 'conflicting relationships' or don't throw it out there.
