Lex Chrisitan made a concentrated effort to contain Canafax and did a fairly decent job at it. Trouble was it cost them everywhere else on the field as they couldn't contain Diehl, Vickers, Bueter, Horan, Gensehues(sp?) at all.

I would say that NCC should be a slight favorite but blow Somerset out? The stats of both teams appear to be about even on offense and defense. Pretty much so but LCA had more rushing yards than Bellveue did and Hayden had most of what they did have.LCA's first half score came after a long pass (maybe 40 yards) down to the NCC 15. Finally scored on a 4th down pass.

 

Actually LCA took the second half kickoff trailing 34-7 and kept the ball until 5:58 was left in the quarter but did not score when stopped on 4th down at about the 20.

 

LCA is pretty senior dominated on offense. They are quick as can be out of the backfield and are pretty quick on defense too. Problem is when they get in passing situations they aren't nearly as effective.

I hope that the Breds avenge the 1 or 2 point loss that Somerset hung on NC/NCC in the 1963 Sweet 16. I was there and it was heartbreaking .

This guy already posted in the Danville Bardstown thread Bardstown needs to be ready for Somerset in 2 weeks. Just a bit ahead of yourself there but thats fine with me practice all the plays you need to get down for Bardstown no need to even look into anything NCC dose.

I wouldn't say they are equal. Congrats to the Jumpers on this win but New Cath is playing some great football right now. I say New Cath wins this game at least 14 points or more. They have a very underrated defense. New Cath might have the team this year to win it all.

As I said last week, whoever wins this game will win the state title!
