The Bengals really look stupid for signing Owens and not playing Simpson he played awesome today!

 

Simpson plays the same spot as Chad, not the spot that Owens plays...However people laughed in the preseason when I talked about how Simpson could end up being a #1 receiver for this team in the future still. I think we seen today that he definitely can be. I think today should have been the final thing the Bengals needed to see, to know that they don't need to sign Chad back.

What's even funnier is that T.O. and Chad were both out of the game. Simpson had six receptions for 125 yards and Andre Caldwell had a good game too. I believe that today could be a preview of what next season could likely be, becaude T.O. is definitely gone and I believe that Chad will likely be also.

I thought that about Simpson when they first brought him in. I know that he struggled some before, but it takes some players time more than it does others. Simpson definitely has plenty of potential.

I wonder now if we do make a change at offensive coordinator. If Simpson will take a long time to figure things out, and have to start over with him. Or if he has now learned enough about things, that he could pick up a new offense easier now.

Sometimes you just have to give players a chance to play and produce. He was never given that chance until last week and now this week. Look at Dunlap and what he is doing. The sad thing is if it wasn't for injuries I doubt the Bengals coaches even give him the chance to do this. Its a sign that the Bengals coaches IMO have to put more faith in their younger talented players sometimes.

I completely agree. I don't care how this team ends the season, they still need a fresh start next year. Clean house in the coaching staff, the only one I wouldn't mind them keeping is Zimmer. Hopefully with a new OC, that Simpson could be smart enough now to pick up a new system quick. Since that is the reason we always heard from why he never played much.

TO actually had a pretty good year up until the time the Bengals were eliminated. Chad was the one that kept Simpson off the field. It is way past time for Ocho "stinko" to be gone from Cincy.

I promise that it wasn't just today; I've known far before joining BGP.

So I guess that Simpson guy can play a little? I know he has 2 fumbles but he isn't very experienced and that is something that can easily be fixed.

He's way more talented than I had anticipated, but I guess I didn't have much to judge him on, either. He's very solid. 12 targets and 10 receptions and he's not done yet.
