January 2, 201115 yr So I guess that Simpson guy can play a little? I know he has 2 fumbles but he isn't very experienced and that is something that can easily be fixed. I am going to have to look at some old threads before the season started. When I was saying I was hoping they Bengals don't cut him, because I believed he could still be a #1 type receiver for us. As you said he has had those fumbles, but those can be fixed.
January 2, 201115 yr He's way more talented than I had anticipated, but I guess I didn't have much to judge him on, either. He's very solid. 12 targets and 10 receptions and he's not done yet. That is one thing with Marvin, sometimes I think he just needs to be willing to give young guys with talent a chance to play. Yes they will make mistakes sometimes, but there is usually more positive things to come with it than bad. It was the same way with Dunlap this year, if it wasn't for injuries they would have never gave him his chance.
January 2, 201115 yr If not a #1 receiver I think he could certainly be a solid #2 in the future. He's looked great thus far.
January 2, 201115 yr Bernard Scott looks better than Benson. Just saying... He is a good change of pace that is for sure. We should have used him more this year. I guess this is our update thread today. How many times have the Bengals been stoopped short today trying to run the ball on 3rd or 4th and one. I would have taken a chance throwing to Simpson on that play.
January 2, 201115 yr Ok 5 TOs . 3 by your boy Palmer and two for your boy child Simpson. Yeah, they're freakin great...

January 2, 201115 yr Ok 5 TOs . 3 by your boy Palmer and two for your boy child Simpson. Yeah, they're freakin great... Why don't you just root for a new team? You talk about starting over, the Bengals have a new guy basically in Simpson and now your saying things about him too. You probably will be much happier if you just get a new team, your constant complaining about things is not going to get anything better either. What you going to say if they do get rid of all the people you want, and they still do bad. Will it be well time to get another new group of guys? I think you want to live through the 90's and early 2000's again dont you?
January 2, 201115 yr 2 fumbles. Guess you got an excuse for him too. And don't give this crap about rooting for a new team. I really want the team to do well. It is so much more fun. But I can't stand fans that think the team is good when they're not. And think they have some sort of a chance when they don't. I want the team to win, but I'm not a... never mind.

This team is bad, I never said other wise. They have sucked at all three phases of the game this year, even the defense too until the last few games. However this is also the NFL and its very easy to turn it around in one season. That is what I am looking at, and they do have some pieces there to do that. Yes there also needs to be some changes made this offseason no matter what. I am also with everyone on the Bengals need to draft a young Qb, which I think Lockkard will be there in the 2nd round. I do think we have seen Palmer has looked much better the last 3 weeks with guys being in the right spots. Yes he missed some throws today, and he can't do that. However we have not seen that miscommunication between him and receivers the last few weeks and has led to them looking better on offense. So I do think there is hope there, and if he does do bad next year then go with the young guy. If I am fan of a team I am going to look for hope, and I do see that with this team with some changes. All the things you want done is pointless, and would lead us back to the horrible days of the 90's when you had no reason to hope at all with thsoe teams.

January 2, 201115 yr How did you come up with that? Well you have said you want them to blow the whole thing up and start over everywhere. Yet your relying on Mike Brown to make the right decisions to get better players in here? The last time we basically tried to completely change things with him as owner shortly after making the playoffs. We ended up with Dave Schula as coach, getting rid of Boomer for Klinger and Im sure you remember how the rest of this story goes. It took him what 12 years to build a team good enough to make the playoffs again after basically starting over. So sorry if I think your idea of blowing things up is the best idea for thsi team. We have a team with some good young core players, and some talent. Yes some changes need to be made, but the main position you ever talk about is a position that could really lead us back to the 90's if we make a wrong choice there. I admit I was wrong Carson is not a top 10 QB, but I don't think he is as horrible as some of you all make him out to be. He does know how to win in this division, which is huge considering you play two top 5 defenses 4 times a year. That is not the change that needs to be made, this team has some tools in place to be a playoff team next year with some things done in the off season. Yes they do need to draft a QB for the future still, and he can sit and lern at first. Or if Carson still struggles after some of these changes, then go with that young guy. I guess we will find out soon though, what they will do starting with the coach.
January 2, 201115 yr Not sure where you got blow up. They need help at Oline. I am not sold on the LBs either. They will have to franchise Ced, or they will need a RB. And I know you guys think Caldwell and Simpson are the next coming of Swann and Stallworth, but they're not, so WR is still an issue. They need a new HC and OC. They need help at Safety, they have to sign Joseph or CB is an issue. Please interject as to where you disagree. Haven't even said anything about QB.

You bragged a few times on here, on how you said you been saying since 2008 that they need to blow up the whole thing. You also have said all season long that they need to get a new QB in here, that has been the main thing you have said. So don't change your story now. If you have been saying these other things, then I would have agreed with you on most, and would have been in agreement that Palmer does need to play better and cut down on the turnovers. The destroyed the #1 defense in the NFL last week in the Chargers, and would have today against a top 5 defense but turnovers was the difference. They moved the ball very well which a lot of offenses struggle with against that defense. Just have to cut down on the turnovers and if Palmer can't do that next season, then I think we all agree to play the young guy.
