Holmes is tough for me to figure out. They lose to a top 5 team in Ballard by 4, but lost to Moore by 22 the night before?

 

Hopefully the Moore game showed this team what they need to work on. Playing the #5 team in the state within 4points is definetly a good sign for the Holmes faithful after the tough loss last night.

 

Can't wait to see what Holmes does against 9th region competition.

Maybe the 9th region isn't all that bad...certainly a good showing for the Dogs.

Both lack the height so they use their athleticism and quickness to their advantage. Sounds like both teams had trouble stopping one another tonight. (Obvious observation)

Sophomore Cam Lewis scored 22 points and freshman Quinten Snider added 21 for the Bruins (8-0) in a 100-96 victory over Covington Holmes (3-3) on Sunday.

Two others scored in double figures for Ballard: senior Devante Parker with 16 points and sophomore Zach Caggins with 11. Lewis added nine rebounds to his point total.

Id say Ballard should win atleast a couple State championships in the next few years. Fans definitely got their moneys worth but this type of game will never be repeated for Holmes in the 9th Region. This sounds like a game straight out of Randolph Park in Covington on a Saturday afternoon.

Sounds like this was the Dontel Rice show.

 

Him dropping 30 on Ballard is no surprise to me though. He was doing that regularly over the summer on the AAU circuit. I'd assume Devante Parker was defending him, or trying atleast, so this perfromance is very impressive.

Holmes led by 9 after one and by 3 at the half, but I guess Ballard's overall quickness and athleticism was just too much for the Dogs in the second half. Either way, very good showing by Holmes.

One stat that jumps out at me from this provided info is that Ballard won 36-6 in the 3-Ball department.

From the just posted summary, it looks like Ballard is deep and they all can produce. Ballard had twelve score, the Bulldogs only 7, so Ballard may have worn Holmes down with their bench.

That could be the case. Holmes only goes about 7 or 8 deep with quality depth.
