Jurich says he will do whatever it takes to keep Strong. He better get over the BB&T and ask for a large loan. I hope Strong doesn't leave after one year. It will set the UL program back a decade. But if he leaves no Hard feelings I know UF is a better job.

I have no personal experince with him or anything, but just from his days at U of L....I thought Petrino was a sleazebag. Don't know why, just always felt that way.

 

In College Football it is about WINNING! Petrino can win and has proven that at the college level. I would take him back at UL any day!

With the right hires, those two will be back, quickly. Neither cupboard is empty.

 

If Florida gets a guy like Petrino, it is quite possible they won't miss a beat. I wouldn't count on Florida being down for any period of time. They are loaded with talent.

The recruiting in Florida is so huge, we all know that. A guy like Bobby could go a long way. He is a proven college coach and I remember Mal Moore had him on a short list for Bama. Ryan Mallot cannot go with him, but if I was a Gator thats who I'd want.

Petrino or Strong seems to be Foley's thinking. Multiple sources saying Mullen is not interested. Foley and Strong are really close so we'll see how that goes.

Pelini would be a heck of a pickup. I hadn't even thought about him. I would have preferred Mullen who I guess is out of the picture, but if Miami could get Pelini I would be extremely pumped. Thanks GT.:thumb:

Dawson may not make official visit to Florida

 

Boyle County senior linebacker Lamar Dawson will likely decided today whether to take his official visit to Florida this weekend or cancel his trip after the unexpected resignation of Florida head coach Urban Meyer Wednesday.

 

A Florida assistant coach was already scheduled to be at Boyle today after coaches from Oregon and Tennessee were there earlier this week.

“He’s going to wait until after the Florida coach visits and then decide whether he will fly down Friday or not,” said Boyle assistant coach John Hodge Wednesday. “Right now, he’s still not sure what he will do.”

Petrino was second choice when Meyer was hired. As Gator fan would not mind seeing Petrino as Florida coach the man is a big time offensive coach.

Talk about a great time to be a Florida State fan... FSU will own that state for the next several years with the shape UM and UF are in...

 

State did beat both Gators and Canes this year but remember Meyer won Championship in Second year at Florida. Florida has talent and will get more with right coach they will be back in the hunt in not too long of a time.

I think Meyer is actually leaving for the right reasons. I think he wanted to take a break last year but got talked into coming back for another season. Sure it's easy to say he's leaving because they're having a "down year" but I think the guy just wants a break and to spend some time with his family. I wouldn't be surprised if we see him back coaching in 5-10 years. I also wouldn't be too surprised if we see him doing some commentating next season, didn't he do that last year?

Heard Petrino re-upped with Arkansas with a 7-year deal. I bet he extracted some major consideration.
