Graduating Seniors - Welcome to the Club

Featured Replies

As the playoffs wind down more and more young men are becoming members of a fraternity - former high school football players. So as one of those members (long-time at that) let me say welcome to the new class of 2010.

It won't be along before you'll be embellishing your past glories like the senior members of the club. You'll remember that it was 114 degrees during your 5-a-day practices and you didn't get any water. Your position coach was a former Marine Corp DI. You'll remember that 14,000 people that showed up for your big rival game despite the stands only holding 427.

Trust me. It's not easy coming up with these abilities but with proper guidance from Leatherneck, KYVince, Ram, myself , and many others you'll eventually get the hang of it. Heck, Thrillville51 is a fast-rising member and he's young.

So, welcome, friends. Glad to have you.

Yes. Welcome class of 2010. The best days are defiantly ahead of you, you are now a "Former great", an "expert coach", and would make the best referee to ever take the field. You now get the great opportunity to use key phrases like, "When I played........", and "I'll tell you the way I did it.....", and one of my favorites, "That would have never happened when I played".

Again, welcome, pull up a recliner and start your prognostication, because you have the time and the ability.

As my username implies, I've been a member of this club for quite some time. :D

Friday night listening to the game we were all talking about how we have all become "Has-beens".

Heck, I'll take being called a "has been", but I am more like a "never was" (which probably better fits a very large majority of the posters on here).:D It is only through the degenerative affect of age on the long term memory cells that we have been able to elevate ourselves into the "has been" category.

Give it some time young'ens and you'll become in your mind the football player that you wished you were in high school.:ylsuper:

Well done , Clyde !! :thumb:

As I stated on another thread. I have gone from being one of the "Boys of Fall", now I'm one of the "Old men who know it all".

Oh Clyde, you're killing me! Almost spit my beverage on the screen when I read some of these replies!
