Common courtesy is that teams trade films, although there are no rules specifying such. I think the custom is the last three games, not the last two.

The best was when teams would play a split 8-man and 11-man season and send you an 8-man tape!

I have no idea how strictly they enforce it, but the KHSAA does have rules in place that require film trade.

 

You have to make at least 2 tapes available, and the opponent can choose which 2.

There are other standards regarding video methods and quality too.

Item #6 states that all players' numbers are to be visible. Wonder how many teams out there have received film from Trinity that is not the wide angle version showing the receivers and the routes they run....just curious.

I think its sad that a team has to allow another team to watch tape on them previous to their matchup.. you wanna know what i run and how I run it, send a scout to tape it or watch and take notes... laziness is what I call it...

I hear you but with all the cuts in school budgets and less coaches on the sidelines means less available people free to leave and go scout next weeks team. I have a great scouting story for you. We had a coach that when asked what the next opponent ran, he replied, "well, the first and third quarters they ran towards the clock and the second and fourth quarters they ran away from it." True story.

That is illeagal. You can't record or tape a game without written permission from both schools or KHSAA. I know a few teams that got in trouble for that a few years back.

 

If you my friend can learn the same amount of info from watching a game live that you can on tape you have a gift and should apply for all HC jobs avaliable now!!!!

The point is, how do you know the scout isn't a crazy glue sniffer? "Building model airplanes" says the scout. Well, we're not buying it.

I could have taken notes at the ryle /campbell game last week and told you anything u needed to know... its always nice to have tape as well tho.. I will be applying for HC jobs in due time my friend.. and if its legal to exchange tape why is it illegal to tape the urself? Strange rule...
