Awesome as always thanks for taking the time. I couldnt help but notice the picture of McGovney (Campbell Co) battling with Maniacci (Cooper). In the background I see some very famous Triplets. LOL That is awesome. Im sure by the time the final game started you were ready to get out of there. lol

I caught the end of the North Oldham / Cov Cath game and it was pretty close with NO up 5-6 most of the last 6 min of the game. Rowan is a beast and he takes up a lot of space. Thelen made a couple really nice passes when I watched. Listerman had his guys pressing and it was effective at times. I am not familiar with the players except Connelly and Thelen and only caught the last 6 min of the game but looked pretty competetive.

Was impressed with Senior Drew Baker of CovCath in what I believe was his first varsity start.

 

I believe CovCath has a another scrimmage next weekend at Louisville Male!

paNDA and I were thinking that the Triplets parents were indeed the bravest people in the gym tonight! Those three babies were indeed not only beautiful but were so good, as they just sat and watch the games with no crying at all, well except for one time when Dad had to take one of the boys out for a diaper change and Dad didn't seem to cry to much, in missing the action!

Simon Kenton started 3 Sophs, Ayers, Monson, Sampson, and 2 seniors, Gray and JR. I was impressed with the young Pioneers.

I liked what I saw from the Neers tonight, and this was without a bunch of players who will see significant minutes (Chambers, Reilly, Rabe, Bowlin, Bach, Swanson) all sitting out. Team chemistry will be key, some of the guys on the court tonight won't be seeing major minutes, they have to keep their egos in check. Doss seems to be improved but still needs to get his basketball legs under him. He's not going to put the Dream shake on a defender but if he can get in the paint I like his potential. SK had no inside game in '09 so I feel pretty good going into this season. Sampson didn't shoot well but I like his ability to drive to the hoop, he can create his own shot. Should be an exciting season in Independence this year.

I like Monson's defensive intensity and Ayers' length. They both need to look for their shot more buto both very athletic. Sampson is solid but I expected more from him. His shot was not there but he did create some nice seperation and hit a few nice shots in the lane.

 

Sk definitely has the luxury of depth and talent. They should make a nice run in their Region. Good luck Pioneers.

 

Question that was asked of me but I don't know the answer: Pike was thrown out of the HHS vs Dixie football which was the last game of the football season for Dixie. Usually when a player is thrown out of a game he must sit the next game. If Pike must sit out a game would it be the first Basketball game this season, or the first football game next season?

Both teams really rolled the players in and out with Cooper ending with the JV squad. I wouldn't put too much stock in this result.

Have to agree, not even close to 6'10 but much more aggressive than last year and indeed worked hard throughout the game.
