Dunbar caught Henry Clay at their lowpoint toward the end of the season. Since then, HC has righted their ship and seems to be playing better again. HC by 3 tds.

HC may win, but 3 touchdowns? Dunbar gets no respect from some people!

Crystal ball said, 'Ask again later"... so I did..... HC wins this one on a 4th quarter play that even leaves Fred Cowgill speechless! 24-22 final

As a fan of a team that HC beat I would like to see them win...good luck blue devils

Paul Dunbar vs. Henry Clay

Regional Titles since 1975

Paul Dunbar 3 (last in 2003)

2002 (Regional Final) Dunbar 49-28

2001 (Second Round) Henry Clay 56-7

Just indulging in the luxury of knowing we (LexCath) don't have to play either of these powerhouse teams. But Henry Clay just seems more explosive whereas Dunbars margin for victory is very small. Dunbar has a running back and a receiver while HC has a bigger running back and more receivers as well as a better passing quarterback. The lines are about even but HC also has an edge in the special teams I think. HC also had blown out some pretty good teams earlier in the year but seemed to tighten up as their winning streak built. HC will have to have miscues for Dunbar to have a chance.

KD I can't help but sense sarcasm in your statement about HC and PLD. Let me remind you that you struggle EVERY year with Scott Co. They were the 4th place team in this district this year ( you won in OT), won it last year ( you won after their best player was hut) and the year before when they didn't make the playoffs they beat you I believe and they were the 5th best team in that district. I would be careful what I wished for, there is a big difference in playing these type teams week in week out. Also PLD has better special teams by far, HC has a MUCH better D-line.

Now as for a prediction I would say if HC has the right attitude and they come to play, HC will win and probably by a few TD's to make a statement.

Good luck to both teams.

FB77, Scott County should beat LC handily every year..(but they don't)they are a much larger school and compete in 4A.

Good luck to both Fayette county schools. I believe one of Dunbar's stars is a product of Catholic elementary/middle schools. He must be one who "got away".

Let me clarify, I am rooting for all LEXINGTON schools, public or private. I want to see a Lex. school win it all. I was simply responding to the fact that I sensed a little arrogance in KD's post. Nothing wrong with being a fan or proud of your team but the smart remarks are not called for. ( If I misinterpreted what he said then I apologize ). I want to see LC and HC advance since they both are capable of winning it all. I would love to see them both win it all, it would be great for Lexington in general. :ylsuper:

Henry Clay by 3 TD's.

Dunbar seems like a cat with 9 lives...games where they are getting that needed break or a big play to pull out the win. I do feel HC is the better team... This one will be interesting.

Henry Clay has all the weapons, but they better be ready to strap it on Friday. Dunbar is feeling pretty good right now and would love to knock the Devils off their perch. Too many weapons.

Henry Clay 35 Dunbar 30

That is just about right.

I agree with some posters that Henry Clay is very explosive. But someone answer me this. Will Wright had over 100 yards rushing against Henry Clay in the first half last game against Henry Clay. Can Henry Clay really win by three touchdowns if Dunbar is running the ball at them this well. It's the same problem Lexington Catholic has had for years. Your offense can't get on the field if you can't get your defense off the field.

You are wise beyond your years.... too bad your golf game is so far behind mine.
