Is Ryle a serious threat to win 6A?

We're on the same page then.

This years Ryle reminds me alot of last years SK, both have D1 running backs and both have QB's that give nightmares to defenses. Only difference is that this year the QB is the Senior rather than the Junior. Both were surrounded by great players, what I'm getting at is that I thought last year was SK's best chance at a state championship that they might see for a while as far as having all of the pieces in place. That's how I see Ryle this season, but unfortunately it also seems like this years Trinity team is alot more dynamic than last years St. X team. Either way the playoffs should be exciting in 6A, atleast for a while.

I'd consider Hempel to be a capable passer, but I don't consider him a passer. I don't consider Ryle to be a diverse offense, although I'd say they could be.

I'd disagree with your assessment. I saw a lot of arm strength. I also saw what appeared to be timing issues on routes. Ryle is a run-first team with 3 strong runners but their passing game's success will ultimately determine how far they go.

Please don't disagree with me Clyde, I'm the good SK fan, I need everyone to like me in my efforts to try to heal our poor image created by some peoples lack of social skills and common sense.:D

All SK fans are good fans. Some are just overzealous(and blocked).

Too bad I don't run this show or I'd block certain ones for everyone.

What time are the playoff games next week?

We are not in the censorship business.

I certainly don't agree with many opinions here on BGP and I know many people don't agree with my opinions but we are all free to express our opinions within the rules.

It will be a tall task for any nky team, especially Ryle, to beat the Rocks this year.

That sophomore class down there at T is unreal.

I know, that's why I can only speak of such actions in the form of what if's and hyopthetical proposals.:D

Ryle could potentially have to beat SK in the 3rd round if both teams make it that far. I would expect a great rematch if it happens. It was a close game last time and one that SK could have won with the exception of going for it on 4th and goal in OT. Hope the rematch happens!!

Deeper, bigger, faster, and stronger....in every facet.

This year's Ryle team isn't one dimensional like the 06 version. That team relied on Gray and Murray (not a bad idea considering both played D1 football) whereas this year's team has a capable dual threat Qb, big strong lines, big athletic backs, and good receivers.

This team is more complete.

I wouldn't agree in every facet. I like this offense better than the 2006 team, but I would have to give the overall edge defensively to the 2006 team. Not a huge difference, but the 2006 team was very strong defensively and had a bit more size. Yes, they got creamed in the final game, but it was against a very, very, very good Trinity team.

Offense: Conner Hempel and Travis Elliott vs. Scott Gray and Vince Murray. Edge to '10 because of the passing threat and the line in front of them is better. Defense: Court Mace and Zack Senvisky vs. Scott Gray and Vince Murray(lol). Edge to '06 because they could change a game in a play and they had more key role players. Special Teams were far better in '06 as well. But because of the few two way players and the more balanced offense, i would say '10 team is better.

Don't have a dog in this fight, but the real question is, can a team execute a pass game when they need to? It's the coaches decision when to pass based on what the defense is doing. Hempel has passing skills when he gets to use them. Strong arm. Throws well standing or on the run. In the last half of the season (QBs need to get their groove on) the young man has completed 61% of his passes for an average of 12 yards/completion and 100+ yard/game, and he's accurate with only 1 interception. Looks like Ryle can be two dimensional when necessary.
