What has happened at LexCath? Their program seems to have regressed over the last couple of years.

Congrats Rocks on a senior night win! I commend an over matched Lex Cath team for putting Trinity and St. X on there schedule. I hope the Lex Cath quarterback is OK! It's on to the 3rd half of the season... PLAYOFFS! I hope Hatcher gets healed up in time for game #3. Looking forward to seeing PRP in the first round. I liked the uni's the Rocks wore for the game.

Hear they had to put 4 or 5 stitches in his non-throwing hand. Good move by coaches not putting him back in. They really need him for playoffs because the 2nd and 3rd string QBs are both injured. The kid they put in last night is the freshman QB.

 

Coaches had no call in this. The finger was cut to the bone. Likely a cut from a Shutt helmet with the snaps above the faceguard.

While Lex. Cath. kept their starters in the whole game. This is how you lose numbers. If I can't get into a game with a 56-0 score, good chance I don't go back out for football.

 

Lex Cath sub what it could in the 3rd and 4th. Of course with running clock does in matter much? 3 starters were already benched with injuries - a cut finger, a back stinger and a dislocated shoulder. The backup quarter was out from a concussion from Monday's JV game. As noted a freshman QB who is not that big physically was playing 2/3 of the game. Did you want some freshman linemen in these so he could get hurt also? The freshmen played a good game Thursday night and prove themselves and some of them were in. But even 4 freshmen were missing - because they are varsity hockey players who were up the road playing against Trinity in a varsity hockey game. Some great scheduling there. The subs for Trinity were not much smaller and in some case larger than the starters (#74 comes to mind). When you have a starting line up with about 1/3 sophomores its hard to 'liberally sub' at any time, especially when the opponent is the (well deserved) #1 in the state. So no one was whimpering about playing time Friday night. These sort of comments are unnecessary.

I certainly was a "Baptism" but the QB, Justin Brownell, handled it well. It also forced LexCath into running more basic plays that actually worked somewhat well vs. the 'West Coast' style that they like to run.

 

The injures were the result of good, hard football. The cut finger was almost freak thing from a very routine play. Bolin was not even sure how it happened. The trainers said someone must have stepped on his hand but he knew that did not happen. Video and photos showed it to be routine contact after a pass.

 

All the Trinity people were gracious both on and off the field. We wish we could have given a better show for senior night.

Two freshman dressed last week versus LC, a WR (Cody Swabek) and the QB (Reggie Bonnafon) in question. Both saw action very late in the LC game. Starting QB in 2011? Who knows. It's 2010, enjoy the ride!
