Well Votto is hitting .167 heading into Sundays game. His collar against Hamels will win me the bet.

It seemed the Reds got confidence when one of their leaders, Phillips, hit the home run and then the played like it as another, Arroyo, dominated.

But when the two leaders, Rolen and Phillips, committed the error and Arroyo couldn't get them out of trouble, all their confidence was gone and they played scared from that point on.

So, hit batters is playing scared?

Arroyo got them out of the trouble. Rolen and Phillips put them in the trouble...

No, other team has ever made a worse first impression in a playoff. No hitted first game and commit 4 errors in the 2nd.

The 4 errors have only happened in a post season game, 3 times and each time it was the Reds who did it. 1919, 1938 (I think) and 2010.

While the no-hitter was a bad first impression, it's a bit more understandable since it came against one of the finest pitchers in the game. Tonight, on the other hand, was a completely different story.

Burns me up that we continue to prove Colin Cowherd right.

Do you live in Ohio?

Arroyo got them out of the trouble. Rolen and Phillips put them in the trouble...

Arroyo gave up the single for the two runs didn't he? I meant that he wasn't able to overcome the blunders of Rolen and Phillips.

So, hit batters is playing scared?

Didn't two of them come with two strikes on the batter?

Yes

Scared? Come on. I don't think fear has anything to do with it.

So, hit batters is playing scared?

Yes

The HBP by Ondrusek is the only 1 I chalk up to being nervous.

Do you live in Ohio?

No, but he was yapping about it today--how the Reds are bogus or frauds or whatever--and we go out yet again and do nothing to prove otherwise.

Didn't two of them come with two strikes on the batter?

Yes. Maybe it's semantics, but I wouldn't classify that as scared, green maybe. But not scared.

Scared? Come on. I don't think fear has anything to do with it.

They played scared the rest of the night.

Another blown call in the Giants game. By the same umpire that blew the call last night at 2nd. If they're not going to use instant replay at least use the best umpires, and don't use a freaking rotation.
