October 8, 201015 yr Author The Braves do suck right now but the the Giants are a good matchup for them if it weren't the Giants I'd want the Reds.
October 8, 201015 yr We can basically all agree no one wants the Phillies. Only two other options after that. Again, had this series been about midseason, I'd feel better about the Braves. Key injuries have withered that offense, and they simply did not make the moves they needed to make. Gonzalez has turned out better than I thought, but you can't sell me on Ankiel and you REALLY can't sell me on Lee.
October 8, 201015 yr IMO - The current Braves are the worst team in the playoffs. Phillies #1 by a wide margin; Giants #2; Reds #3; Braves #4. Of course the Braves would prefer to be playing the Reds. And the Reds would prefer to be playing the Braves over anyone else.

October 8, 201015 yr Author The Braves are definitely a different team without Prado and Chipper. I think the Prado injury is what really hurt them in their series with the Giants. He was a major loss just because of his ability to get on base. Chipper has struggled in the postseason in recent years but his experience and leadership would have really helped with a lot of these guys having never been to the postseason before. The Braves are lucky to be in the playoffs but I will not county them out, they are a hard working team that doesn't give up.
October 8, 201015 yr The Braves are definitely a different team without Prado and Chipper. Completely. Way oversimplifying on my part, but I look at how the Giants got their one run - a grounder that Infante should have had at third base. A position that both Jones and Prado played and a play that I believe either one of them would have made. It was not a fluke that it was all Atlanta could do to beat the Phillies and their backups one time out of three to get into the playoffs. They can't put everything on the pitching.
October 9, 201015 yr Huge win for the Braves, with Hudson going in Game 3 at home you have to like the Braves chances of going up 2 -1.
October 9, 201015 yr The homer by Ankiel was an absolute bomb. One of those that sounded like a home run, even on TV.
October 9, 201015 yr DragonFire may want to rethink those comments he made about Lee and Ainkel. They were both huge parts of the Braves win last night.
October 9, 201015 yr DragonFire may want to rethink those comments he made about Lee and Ainkel. They were both huge parts of the Braves win last night. What's that saying about a blind squirrel? In all seriousness, I know that they like any major leaguer is there for a reason, and that they aren't unskilled. They are capable of turning in big games, big plays, etc. I was low on Glaus as the season wore on but he might've made the biggest play of all in starting the double play in the 10th. But on a consistency basis, Lee has not been of much use as a Brave. Ankiel has been better.
October 9, 201015 yr Braves showed a lot of grit last night/this morning, especially after Wagner injured himself---which looks to me like he pulled a muscle just above his hip. They truly have a patchwork lineup. Keep it going, Bravos.
