Wow...you miss a thread for a day around here and you miss a lot! Thanks for all the kind words. I've enjoyed posting here for the past few years and I've always enjoyed reading the Raceland posts as well.

 

As for the game, I don't know where to begin in making a prediction. There are so many unknowns. Fairview is undefeated, but 5 of those 6 wins have come against bad teams. West Carter isn't good, but they're at least respectable...so I would consider that a quality win. Raceland has 5 lopsided wins against bad teams, too, coupled with 2 bad losses against good teams. Combine that with the fact Fairview does supposedly have quite a few newcomers to their team and I just don't see how anyone could tell what's going to happen in this week's game. With it being so late in the season, I doubt that there is another matchup in the state with so many unanswered questions. It should be a fun game to watch, coach, and play in, though, with so much pride, a possible district championship, and home field advantage in the playoffs on the line.

 

Having to add something else Russell-related to the thread, though, I would be remiss if I didn't point out that both teams are coached by 2 of the best linemen that have ever played at Russell.

I will have to agree that I wish there were some more Fairview posters. It's been so long that I've forgotten some of their usernames. I'll bet this will be a classic matchup. So, someone said that there were some more injuries for the Rams. Forgive me for being out of the loop here, but who and where are those injuries?

Ryan, you nailed it! Too many questions unanswered. This is a typical 1A battle and for the life of me, I am not sure what we bring to the table. Just on sheer talent, I think Fairview has experience and strength on the lines and as Greenup was able to expose, we don't do well with. I'll take our offense and what it can do but can we stop them? I haven't even made my prediction on the winner yet either!!!! So hyped and yet so confused. I am sure that it will be a close game and classic for this rivalry.

Had a friend say he heard that Raceland had some kids out for this game, didn't say who and I didn't bother to ask. So, I'm asking, are there some who have been recently injured and won't dress? If so, that can't bode well for the Rams. Anyone?

Don't ever stay away too long, you miss a lot. I just want to clear something up, many members relate stuff to team bias, it is not "team bias" it is only directed to individuals on here. Ryan you have always been respectful and forthcoming with you information and nothing that I have said has been directed toward you or Russell.

 

Aside from that, I agree, two outstanding Russell linemen coaching in this game. Should make for a great game.
