NKYsports.com GOTW: Covington Catholic vs Newport Central Catholic Predictions

Featured Replies

Colonels will travel to Newport stadium to take on the Breds in our nkysports.com game of the week this Friday.

Who wins and why?

I know Covcath radio will be there covering the game, but if you'd like to watch the game live or on demand, go to nkysports.com and click on our webcasts link for the full broadcast, starting about 15 minutes before kickoff.

No ground breaking prediction for me, but it depends on which CovCath team shows up. If the CovCath from last week shows, I wouldn't be surprised if NewCath comes away with a W. But if the Colonels bring their "A" game I think they win by 2 touchdowns.

This could be quite a game! Best of luck to both teams.

This game will come down to CovCath's ability to stop the run and NewCath's ability to stop the pass. Those seem to be the areas where the 2 defenses have struggled.

...and Cov Cath's ability to quit bleeding out penalty yardage.

Sounds like a real Holy War....

Yep. It'll be our second "Cath v. Cath" matchup of the year.

I dont think this one will go as well as the last.

Didn't you predict CovCath would lose to LexCath?

Yep, here it is, per the chickenhawk

"I dont think this will be a close one. Knights may be too much".

Settle out of court. Open one window for the video from nkysports.com. Catch Mark and the J-Man's audio broadcast from the link at covcath.org.

I like the Colonels in a close battle with the Breds.

Colonels stop the run they will probably pull out the victory. The Cov Cath offense can score but it all depends upon the ability of the defense to shut down the Breds running attack.

Sounds about right to me.

And welcome to the fold, PHB. Where exactly are you from?

I seems that both teams have been shooting themselves in the foot lately with turnovers. As stated above, which teams show up? I like NewCath in a close one at home.

didn't Cov Cath only have one turnover against Beechwood?
