September 25, 201015 yr Didn't see that Farnsworth was hurt but Hawksworth took a line drive to the chops. St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Blake Hawksworth was struck in the face by a batted ball Saturday in the fifth inning of the Cardinals game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Hawksworth was quickly attended to by trainers from both teams and arose from the ground after a few minutes, walking off the field with a towel over his mouth area. He was hit by a line drive single off the bat of Sam Fuld, who stood with his helmet off at first base watching as Carpenter was treated. Cubs team physician Dr. Stephen Adams was on the scene as well and went inside the Cardinals clubhouse with Hawksworth. The Cubs led the game 5-3. Cardinals manager Tony La Russa had been ejected from the game an inning earlier for arguing a call, but he came onto the field when Hawksworth was hit. Hawksworth was taken to a local hospital and remained conscious. An initial report said he was struck near the mouth.

I think TLR wrote it & just forgot a few words. It should read, as Carpenter was treated poorly by a bunch of bullies wearing Cubs' uniforms.

I only saw part of the back of his uniform (the "worth" part) and he was partially covering his face. I didn't think it actually looked like Farnsworth, and I was confused about when the Cardinals picked him up.
