Colonel Mike says Henry kicked Trimble why they were down. Don't know what else Henry could have done to keep it any closer. As a coach you can't tell your team to not play hard. Wholesale subs during the game. All but two in a Henry uniform got on the field. Those two were recent additions to the team. Trimble is having a down year and will have a very long season with so few players. I don't look for them to be on Henry's schedule again for some time. Building a program starts in the lower grades, then middle school and finally high school. It doesn't happen overnight and it takes a commitment form coaches, players, administration and the community to put it together. Good luck to Trimble in the future and good luck to the Wildcats. for the rest of the season.

If you'll re-read my post, I highlighted what I felt was "kicking the other team". Not the margin, which was hardly unreasonable by any standard.

 

Why do you feel that a running clock was exactly what Trimble wanted? I wasn't there, just asking. Did they specifically request a running clock? If not, why do you say that it is exactly what Trimble wanted? Frankly, it sounds like taunting...

Where did you hear this? I was pretty close to all of the action and didn't hear anything of the kind. Maybe the announcer said it? I did hear him mention a time or two that Eminence wouldn't play HC, either for high school or middle school.

Any truth to the rumour that a running clock was requested for the Henry County/Lou. Holy Cross game a couple of weeks ago?

Wouldn't have been a bad idea. I heard it got ugly in the 2nd quarter.

From several HC people. Not trying to start anything, I am only backing up what ol 70 said. HC wanted to take care of business early and get others in. Its not TC's year this year, but every program has it ups and downs. Coach Collins will get them on the right track.

I think it's obvious that numbers are the biggest problem at TC. They will be more competative win the play schools their own size, if the Blanton kid comes back healthy.

Nobody in HC is bragging about anything, and other than local schools that we have played since football began, our schedule is pretty strong.

I'm not trying to get anything started, either. However, several HC people? I'm sorry, but I must have missed the big announcement in which several HC people heard any comment. What happens is that one person tweaks what they actually hear, in this case, to something that "puffs up" their own ego.

 

The only mention of the running clock occurred when Trimble was down 42-0 in the 3rd quarter AND their quarterback went down with the knee injury. At that point, divine intervention was the only way that game's outcome was going to change and the running clock was the best solution and was agree upon by both coaches.
