Mayfield 23 Paducah Tilghman 20 (OT)

Give you give us some details on the game?

Mayfield jumps out to 10-0 lead in first half but PT answers with 2 TD's from UK verbal Forrest (missed 1 pat) so its PT 13 May 10. Cards get FG ties it late in half. PT gets into FG range as time is running out and makes about a 40 yard FG but they had 12 men on field so it is nullified and they try a longer fg but it is short. 3 quarter was mostly to Mayfield's advantage as they scored a td and kept PT backed up deep in their own territory. 4 Q saw PT tie the game. In OT PT had the ball first but turned it over on downs and Mayfield kicked game winner on 4th down

Best game In years...packed house...7k plus...lots of momentum swings...forrest for PT is for real!

What an incredible game! It was like watching Apollo Creed and Rocky Balboa punch each other in the mouth. When the game ended the field was littered with players laying on the turf who did not have anything left. Awesome....just glad to have witnessed it.

Mayfield out gained PT in total yards 277 to 220, Mayfield qb Guhy 13 of 20 198 yards, Mayfield rushed 41 times for only 79 yards, a telling stat. Cards have been little penalized all year but tonight they must have had atleast 6 or 7 fale starts which really hurt them on several drives. PT qb less polished and made several throws that hurt PT and hey also had some dropped balls. Forest kid headed for UK was a monster on both sides of the ball.

I figured Mayfield would win, but that's a nice showing for Tilghman!

PT ripped off two quick touchdowns with the short pass during the 2nd quarter, why they didn't keep going to Forrest and Harmon the entire game is beyond me. I realize Cox bounced several passes to his receivers and air mailed a couple in to the first row of patrons, but the screen and quick slant were there all night. He even stepped up and ran down the field for a couple of big gainers. IMO, play calling was too much by the book... we should do this, this and this and not what was working. Much of the night Jones covered Forrest, a difference of at least a foot between the two and who knows what it was with leaping ability factored into that.

Wonderful job by the kicker Wynstra, calm cool and collected. That game winning field goal could have been hit from 40 to 50 yards.

Can't imagine anyone else on the schedule giving Mayfield anything close to this type of game until deep in the playoffs unless Graves Co. pulls a rabbit out of the hat in 2 weeks.

Great Win!! Winning the tough one's shows courage, experience and luck. If you have those three you can go along way!!

I agree PT had slants over the middle all night and even though Cox isn't as polished he could have hit a couple more for big yardage.

But IMO the kicking game is one of PT biggest issues. Timing is off, wrong guy trying the PAT, and not going for the field goal in OT. The guy who kicks a 40 yard field goal with 12 guys on the field doesn't kick the PAT?????????? Why is that. When you have two evenly matched teams the SPECIAL TEAMS decide the game.

Good job Cards!!

PT was a better team than I expected. I knew they had some great athletes, but, I was surprised at how disciplined they are on defense and there linemen and LBs are very strong and get off there blocks well. I still think Mayfield was the better of the 2 teams and were hurt by several motion penalties. Good thing they were able to pass the ball or it could have been a long night. was proud of the intensity they showed and the character of handling adversity when things got tight. That's a sign of a mature and great team...
