C'mon....it's not like they needed Krauthammer to spell it out for them. :lol: Even I can see what's coming without his help. I don't agree pretty much with anything he says. But, the enthused are most likely to vote. And Republicans will most likely be in the majority again soon. Then, they'll get nothing done and we'll be back to square one again. It's stupid, politics these days. Nothing gets done except the widening of rifts among the "little folk" (people like those of us with no real influence).

 

For the record, I actually think Obama has done quite well so far, despite what everyone else says. I guess I'm one of those Independent voters still in his camp. A change in party majority in Congress won't change that. Maybe I just have the patience to see if the solutions enacted will work.

I got it from your statement, "...it's not like they needed Krauthammer to spell it out for them." There are a lot of people trying to get the Dems attention and they are not listening. I'm not disputing your comment on the Republicans... but politicians in both parties had better start listening to the people who put them there or they will be nothing more than voters themselves.

He is very intelligent. Does anybody know if something is wrong with him, and if so, how it happened? When I see him on TV-something is not right, but they are trying to disguise it.

He was paralyzed in a diving accident while at Harvard Medical school. Despite this he graduated, he drives himself in a space age van, featured in Time Magazine. While many on this thread may blindly see him as a typical old conservative, you may be surprised, opposes death penalty, opposes torture with exceptions for times when immediate danger is present. When others may follow party lines he tends to grasp the overall picture and is not afraid to voice his opinion. He despite one of the greatest handicaps, became enormously successful in the great American Tradition, hard work. Perhaps the label someone gave him as elitist, should be changed to show what the human spirit can do, and recognized as such.

The questions I have for Mr. Krauthammer is that if Liberals have it all wrong and all conservatives are just principled people who are against debt, government intrusion and expansion of power, why then do they support government intrusion into marriage? Why were they so supportive of the patriot act and a new branch of government in the office of homeland security? Where were all the people marching in 3 cornered hats when President Bush and a Republican congress turned a budget surplus into a record deficit? If they are truly for less government intervention and protecting the constitution why are they wanting to repeal the 14th amendment and why the heck are they in support of denying people's 1st amendment rights in New York City? Just curious...:confused:

I think you are confused by the Liberal and Conservative label vs. the Democrat and Republican label. Not all Republicans are conservative, just as not all Democrats are Liberals.

Unlike RM-I don't think Obama has done a good job, and the poll numbers are reflecting that. You can't just keep throwing money at problems hoping they go away. I am concerned that we are mortgaging our future with all of the debt we are incurring. Obama and the Dems spending is out of control.

I didn't try to paint them as racist. I'm looking for someone to explain to me the inconsistancies in thier positions. I don't think it's racism, I think it's simple politics and hypocracy.
