Yeah, because Bruce hasn't hit 4 HRs against lefties in the last week...

I never said Bruce couldn't hit lefties. It had nothing to do with that.

Stros complete the sweep.

Man, I like the sound of that when the sweep is over the cards!!!

That's usually the line you get right before a guy's put on the DL...

There's no need to put anybody on the DL now.

Who would've thunk that they could go in to St. Louis with an 8 game lead? Crazy game.

There's no need to put anybody on the DL now.

That's true...But that's usually the line you get when a guy's about to miss a week or two.

Obviously math wasn't Bruce's strong suit...

He's obviously counting an 11 game sweep to the World Series title. :D

To salute the stros on the sweep, who's down for some Stroh's beer?

I'm glad somebody posted this. Now we'll all get to see what a huge choke job the Reds are going to manage to pull off. It's going to be a great month for me. It all starts today. The Cards offense is back just in time to beat up on the fraudulent Reds this weekend. Cards already lead 2-0 in the top of 2 today.

Thank you. The Reds surge coincided with you joining BGP. All I can say is WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME!!!!

Obviously math wasn't Bruce's strong suit...

Maybe he's counting on playing 10 games in the post season. Maybe he's a member of MENSA.

PETA Tony looked like he might cry during the press conference after the game. Jack Clark even commented afterward that he doesn't think he's ever seen Tony look so defeated. Tony wouldn't answer any questions about the upcoming series against the Reds. He kept saying "I'll answer questions about today's game. "

It is now my biggest worry going into this weekend. It also might be part of the reason Dusty wants to hold out Phillips until Monday. I also agree that the Cardinals don't want to start a war with a team that can bring in a guy who can throw 100 mph plus. I'm sure there will be warnings issued before each game all weekend long. It still wouldn't surprise me to see Carpenter drill Rolen on Sunday. It will definitely be a very interesting weekend.

Zero chance LaRussa lets the Cueto incident go without retaliation. Add in that he might be 7 games out and it will be a "nothing to lose" scenario for him and the Cards.

He'll definitely be 7 games out, and maybe even 8. The Cardinals chances are fading fast, but if they hold out any hope of at least getting back into the Wildcard, does he want to take any chances of losing a Carpenter, Wainwright or Garcia to a suspension. Not to mention the fact I already mentioned that the Reds throw 103 MPH fastballs at their star players.

Looking at the Reds 40 man roster it looks like the Reds moved Russ Springer to the 60 day DL to make room for Corky Miller on the 40 man roster.
