September 1, 201016 yr Author Stubbs 8 Heisey 9 Votto 3 Rolen 5 Gomes 7 Hernandez 2 Cairo 4 Janish 6 Cueto 1 So much for giving Rolen an extra day off...:idunno: Any updates on Bruce?
September 1, 201016 yr Any updates on Bruce? Just that he's still out. It has to be something they're worried about. No other explaination for playing Rolen and not having Bruce out there.
September 1, 201016 yr Author The bigger the gap between first and second place the higher the chance of a fight (or two) this weekend. It is now my biggest worry going into this weekend. It also might be part of the reason Dusty wants to hold out Phillips until Monday. I also agree that the Cardinals don't want to start a war with a team that can bring in a guy who can throw 100 mph plus. I'm sure there will be warnings issued before each game all weekend long. It still wouldn't surprise me to see Carpenter drill Rolen on Sunday. It will definitely be a very interesting weekend.
September 1, 201016 yr Bruce update Posted by jfay September 1st, 2010, 3:49 pm Jay Bruce said he probably will be out for a few days. “It’s more important that I be ready for the last 40 games, than the next three,” he said. Is it an oblique? “It’s hard to put your finger on,” he said. “It’s near my ribs.” Bruce is shut down for a few days, getting treatment.
September 1, 201016 yr Love the lineup tonight. Let's go up by 8. Rolen already had his vacation. Let's go for home field throughout.
September 1, 201016 yr Author Just that he's still out. It has to be something they're worried about. No other explaination for playing Rolen and not having Bruce out there. Other than the Brewers are throwing a lefty, and Dusty just decided keeping Bruce out another day wouldn't hurt.

Let's hope it's not an oblique, and he's back sooner rather than later.

If anyone gets hit it will be BP, no way they hit Rolen, if they do all heck is likely to break lose.
September 1, 201016 yr Other than the Brewers are throwing a lefty, and Dusty just decided keeping Bruce out another day wouldn't hurt. Yeah, because Bruce hasn't hit 4 HRs against lefties in the last week...
