Was Stubbs walking around the bases?

At least we got the run, but I just don't understand the baserunning tonight. Why would you even think about going to third there? The OF was playing so far in.

Thing is, if he slides there, he just may have made it. I think he was thinking the throw was going to go home for whatever reason....

I know Hanigan is slow, but even I could have made it in from 3B on that hit.
