What Comes of Dale Mueller's Legacy

Featured Replies

If Highlands finished undefeated after he bought out of the St. X contract? Would you still think the same of him considering the buy out took place or would you put less stock into an undefeated season that included one less stacked team?

What say you?

What contract with X are you talking about?

The Cincinnati St. X contract. They played on Sep. 25th last year and the game has been replaced with Eastern.

I thought it was only a one-year contract.

That is a possibility. I haven't seen the contract personally. I have just heard from coaches from more than 1 school that it was a buyout by Dale. Which would be awfully petty in my opinion.

My advice is to always be cynical about "rumors" you hear about Dale. There is usually a shade of green on them.

If I we kidding I wouldn't have posted this. Personally as a NKY football fan I hope he didn't buy out. It was great for NKY football and really the entire state for Highlands to knock off a national power like St. X. However if it was a buy out that's pretty weak for NKY. Beat them one year and buy out the next before they have a shot at revenge.

So 5, you started a thread concerning something you really don't have a clue on? That's rich...

The contract was for one year. There was no buy-out by either program. Ryan Ernst of the Enquirer confirmed this awhile ago. You admitted yourself that you are unaware of the specifics concerning the arrangement. I'm curious to know why you automatically assumed that it was Highlands that "bought out" of the contract, and not St. X. Highlands was the team that won the game last year, right? Keep in mind, it doesn't hurt Highlands playoffs-wise to lose to a non-district team, but it sure does hurt Ohio teams like St. X. So, I just find it interesting that you assumed if one of these two programs didn't want to play the other in 2010, it must have been Highlands.

Oh, and you managed to spell the coach's name wrong, by the way... it's spelled Dale Mueller.

In his defense he said he heard from other coaches that HHS bought it out.

I thought it was only a one-year contract.
