Arkansas broadcaster fired for wearing Gators hat

Featured Replies

Not really. I guess Petrino demands loyalty.

Cause he sets the bar high :lol:

:clap::D:clap:

Depends, if she work for University Radio- yes. If not I would say -no.

I heard her on Steven A this morning and she has repeatedly apologized and continued to do so today saying she was unaware and meant no disrespect. I think Petrino has a case of Napoleon syndrom and cost someone thier career because of it. Basically a jerk.

She absolutely should've been fired. Try wearing a Coke shirt while delivering for Pepsi. Nike shoes while repping for Reebok...etc.

She didn't take her job very seriously if she didn't realize that was a bad idea.

She was hired to cover the Arkansas football team for the radio. She showed up in a Gators hat. Petrino and company didn't like it which is their right IMO. Yes she deserved to be fired IMO, have some professionalism. I don't even show up for my job in UK T-shirts at the office because I work at MSU. I know that's a little different, but she had tweeted that she wanted to come home to cover UF sports before hand and then she wears the hat? Pardon me for not feeling sorry for her.

For the record, I don't buy the "I was in a hurry and didn't realize what hat I put on."

Hogs athletics represents $$ to radio stations so if the radio station felt that one of their employees put a relationship in jeopardy then the firing is understandable.

If some of the comments on the article were true, this was just the icing on the cake....Claims she was bad-mouthing her employer and her job on facebook prior to the incident.

So our "school colors" are of more value than our religous ideals. You couldn't be fired for being a Satanist, but my goodness, don't you dare come in here with that blue and orange hat on.

If you're an employee for Pepsi as someone else mentioned, you don't think you'd be disciplined for wearing Coke gear? Give me a break.

No woman I've ever met leaves the house without knowing EXACTLY what they have on and how they look in it.

Where in the world did this come from? Good grief!
