Arkansas broadcaster fired for wearing Gators hat

I do have to say, if she was going to a friends house for a grill out, I'm not sure I'd agree with the firing. However, she is going to work, knowing that her employer has supported largely by the school she is reporting on. I have no problem with this.

But it's okay for Petrino to quit the Falcons in mid-season. That is honorable. C'mon don't take yourself (Petrino) so seriously. Win and maybe that Georgia job will open up at the right time.

I challenge you to find where myself, or anyone for that matter, thought that was okay. I understand your problem with Petrino but that has little to do with this girl getting herself fired.

Chill my man. I simply am saying Petrino has a different look at loyalty for others than he does himself. Is quitting being loyal?

What does Petrino leaving the Falcons have to do with any of this?

It's Arkansas their fans are crazy, so ya nothing they do really surprises me.

Should have worn a Bama cap. Bobby would have gave her the podium.

Gotcha. Obviously not, they both made a decision that will affect the rest of their careers. You can guarantee Petrino won't get a job in the NFL ever again.

Nice one AL! :lol::lol:

Unless there were other issues with her I say no! Should she be reprimanded? Sure!! But if the the only reason she was fired was for this situation, I call it crap! And the GM of the station is a sissy! But as we all know....Whatever Bob wants Bob gets! :lol::lol::lol:

I think there was more to the firing than just her wearing a Florida cap to an Arkansas Presser. I read that she was trashing her job-even before she had the run-in with Bobby P.-on her Facebook page. Had it just been an instance of her wearing the hat to the presser alone, I think she would have been reprimanded, would have apologized to everyone at Arkansas, and eventually would have been allowed back around the football team. I don't buy that she didn't realize the hat she had put on the ENTIRE time leading up to Bobby P. calling her on it. She must have driven to the presser, which means she looked at herself in the mirror at some point, and even if she hadn't-don't you think someone would have commented on it before the head coach was at the podium.
