Thoughts? Predictions?

I'll go with Mason on this one. Probably closer than last year, although last year wasn't as close as the score indicated. Mason is hot to prove they're better than they looked against Ashland.

I'm pulling for Danville but I'm going to say Mason County will win. Definitely alot closer than last year.

On paper Mason County should win, but there are some intangibles here (long bus ride, sub-par showing for the Royals in Friday's scrimmage, Danville looking for a much better showing than last year, etc.)

 

That being said, I'll go with:

This game depends on Danville's defense, there is no way they can let Mason Co.'s quaterback play in his comfort zone, they have to bring the heat. Maybe Danville saw something in Mason's last scrimmage that will help. I think Danville will move the ball offensively if they don't turn it over. Danville has a young quaterback, but he gained a lot of experience last year, and I think Danville will be a lot more solid at that key position this year. If Danville will come out and play with emotion, I think they will win this game 24-21, they have a good experienced kicker back.

Devaunte Alcorn. Don't know if I spelled that right. He is a sophomore and by the time he is a senior he will be one of the best qb's to come out of this area. A lot of old time Danville fans are giddy because they say he is the first true prototypical quarterback to ever play at Danville. If the Danville offense can find more consistency than they did in the scrimmage last week then they'll be fine. I don't know enough about Mason County other than the Herald Leader has them ranked #1 in 3A so I am going to go with Mason County by 3 or less but I'd love to see a great showing and a victory by the Ads to get their season started off on the right foot. I have nothing but love for Danville until September 24.

Mason County keeps getting better and will build on last years performance. They win 27 - 21.

I'm hearing good things about Danville and I think Mason County better be ready for a battle. I know one thing for sure, I'll be there ready for action!
