Will Ft Campbell once again control the 2a class?

Who will be the teams to beat in the east and west?

Who's the darkhorses that may be flying under the radar?

I don't think they will compete for state. But I think Newport will surprise a lot of people.

What other teams are out there to look out for?

Being a Monroe Countian I would have to say watch out for us again this year....we just reloaded!!!! The Falcons are 76 strong and really hungry for a state run after being eliminated by the three time state champions two years in a row. That being said I also have to say that the Glasgow Scotties are coming out of their shell under the new riegn of Rick Wood. They have tremendous speed and a lot of young talent that offer a variety of strength and speed. Monroe has the entire backfield with a super strong senior class to lead them deep again this year. If Monroe breaks down it will be in the trenches. Defense is as strong or maybe stronger than the previous two years. We have some new faces that will be definatley be added strenght to our already strong arsenol!!!!! Can't wait untill Wayne County at home!!!

Go Roe Go!!!

I think Fort Campbell will still go far but won't have the dominance they have had the past few years. DeSales had a good run last year but loses a lot of key players. I could see Monroe making it pretty far. My dark horse is CAL. They have 20+ seniors this year and return most starters. I think they have a shot of making a big impact. NewCath could be very good this season if they can adjust to the coaching staff change. Certainly going to be a good year in 2A!

Murray should be in the running in the far west

We will have to wait and see, but I think if Danville can shore up the defense they can have a good year. I've seen a few practices and everything looks to be all business. If they come out and play agressive I think things will be on the up swing. The offense is there, just need the defense to step up and not dig any big holes early. They have one really nice looking freshman running back, he could be special in a year or two.

Fort Campbell will not be as dominate this year as they have been the last few years. They are young and have a lot of holes fill on both sides of the ball. However, I'm cautiously optimistic that they will develop as the season progresses be ready come district and playoff time.

Agree know that Murray returns Quite a lot off of last year's team. Also think Fort Campbell will still be very tough and that Monroe, Glasgow, and Green will also willbe tough out west. Bardstown and Danville still have to catch up to these other teams. Don't know enough about teams in eastern part of state to comment on them.

I couldn't agree more with you FC. I think that there are going to be some lessons learned on the field this season.......but come district and playoff time, they'll be ready for anything.

Later.

FC will be right in the thick of the hunt come 2A playoff time. Many will find out that FC football is much bigger than Antonio Andrews, much like learning to live without Micah Johnson, only a matter of time. As long as Coach Berner is at the helm at FC, all is well in Falcon territory.

In the West:

FC, Murray, and Monroe County (All three have a tremendous coach at the helm and one of these three teams will be holding the trophy in Bowling Green).

In the East:

NCC

Good Luck to All!!

Fort Campbell is still Fort Campbell but they sure needed Tre Powell with them in the early season. He will likely give them a late season boost but will it be in time? The thing Fort Campbell is missing this year compared to year's past are game-changers. Still stout on defense and up front.

Murray lost their game-changers in Wicks and Langford but have just about everything else back. They need to find one person to run the QB spot to be successful.

Danville is the team to watch. Lots of athletes back from their first losing season in 30 years.

Newport and CAL are two others who could fly under the radar.

NCC has their top two offensive weapons back.

Corbin and Prestonsburg are two that will get better as the season goes on and will be factors.

Monroe County is my sleeper pick to dethrone Fort Campbell as state champions

How does Trigg look? I know they got progressively better throughout the year and were relatively young. Could they be a sleeper to upset Murray in the District/Region?

NewCath has a LOT of offensive weapons back. The issue comes down to ability to block and the ability to throw the ball. They lose a ton off of their line, and their passing game was not very good (that has a lot to do with a young QB and he will be much better this year.)
