Coaching Changes

Featured Replies

Often the adminstrators don't have a clue of what it takes to win or build a winner. All they want is for everyone to be happy, which is impossible until the coach has a chance to build and establish his program and expectations etc. Sometimes the coach just doesn't see any light at the end of the tunnel and decides to move on.

Why would Berea open again?

I thought that he accepted the Jackson County startup job. That may be why his name has come up.

I agree--Coach Mills is taking the right steps w/ those young men.....but I heard that the job was going to be open(again). If this was true I would be amazed that the administration would actuallt do such a thing.

If this is the case and I hope it isn't, we are seeing it way to often. No stability for the kids, who in their right mind would want to look at that job, maybe that is what the administration wants, then they could just let all the kids just go to Southern or Central and be done with it.

Different guy. He was there for the '04 season. This is a new coach for '05. The '04 coach took the Jackson job.

I've answered this numerous times but no one seems to believe me.

Harlan County High School would have about 1,400 students if it opened today. It would have to drop below 1,100 to be close to a 3A school, so it will be 4A, at least for a few years.

Construction hasn't started on the new school yet. It is scheduled to open in the fall of 2007, but it could take another year.

HDE I was under the same impression but it said last night on WYMT the new school would house 1300. I was told by Tim Saylor at the Wburg Evarts game it wold house 1800. Why would you build a school for 1300 when there are 1400 students in the 3 consolidating. Maybe it was a missquote.

Todd Harris is the new coach for Jackson County's new program. He was at Berea in 03, & 04. Coach Mills does seem to have the Berea program at least progressing again. Numbers always have and always will be a concern at Berea Community School. It would be very surprising to me if the adiministration did not give him more time unless there is something going on behind the scenes. Nothing is ever really surprising in the HS coaching ranks anymore though.

Is there any word on Dunbar? Just heard a rumor Hensley may leave?

Where is he going to now? They already said Rich Brooks was going to be at UK next year.... Can't be there.

This isn't a rumor thread. This is a thread about coaches who will not be back in 2006. As we get closer to Christmas, coaches fates are determined by themselves or the school. If you know of a definite coaching opening, feel free to discuss it but this is not the forum to toss about wild rumors about coaches who had a bad season.

This will also be the last warning about this in here.

I havent heard that message about others especially Dunbar

I heard someone say that Berea finished the year with 13 players. Is that true?

Rumor is that Trinity is looking at the PRP coach. They think he can beat ST. X.

How interesting. Bob Beatty may be the only coach in Kentucky with winning record against X. I'm quite sure, while he is a very good coach, Coach Wolfe does not now and probably won't in the future have a winning record against X. Good luck to Manual's Coach Nichols who is looking for his first win against the Tigers, something Coach Beatty accomplished in his first season at Trinity with an underdog team against the defending champion Tigers. While we are talking about Rumors, who is the favorite to replace Joe Nichols?

Bryan Station is open.
