Shawn Asher kid from North Laurel has to be in that group. He really turned it on at the end of the season when they started getting the ball in his hands. I have no doubt that he will be there go to guy next year.

 

Aaron Root from Williamsburg. He averaged over 20 solo tackles per game, nuf said.

 

 

I agree about Root being underated. He ended up with 158 tackles in 8 games and was the heart of the defense. Also played center (he's about 5'9", 180 lbs.) and from what I've heard from his coaches graded out every game he played. Also very underated for Williamsburg was Richie Moses at left Tackle. I don't think he gave up a sack all year, and is as fine a pass blocking tackle as I've seen in years on the High School level. He has good height (6'2" TO 6"3") and if given a chance in the right program could play at the next level.

Every one talks about Chaffin and Reynolds from Lynn Camp, but to be honest I was impressed with the Scalf kid at QB. He would make a nice strong safety or even QB at a small college. Very athletic, and appears to be intellegent on the field.

Roskopf is very underrated as is Reynolds. I can't wait to watch Roskopf play next year.

Tomcatsalute, How in the world is he average? He ran all over your Tomcats! And he is second in the STATE in scoring. What more do you want the kid to do? Maybe transfer to Ashland, then Kasey would be a Mr. Football candidate right? I guess you have no respect for a player still playing with 34 TD's on less than 150 carries. Your opinion amazes me. Did you and the Daily Independent sports staff take the same kind of medication that makes you crazy? I guess both Ashland and Johnson Central are the best football teams int the area? Who's still scoring I mean playing it is a Kasey Clark led Russell team!!!!!

Jake Johnson and Blake Johnson are not cousins .. but they have played together in the past at Fleming-Neon Grade school and high school!!!!

What about the freshman QB at Clay Co.. He is the 2nd best QB I have seen all year - Ian Holbrook is the best though. The kid from Clay has a lot of talent and hopefully he only gets better.

 

I agree Salute. He put up some fantastic numbers this year for a senior much less a freshman. Clay only loses one lineman and one receiver! Lewis will rturn next year with sveral players that set school offensive records this year. I look for Lewis to have a much more prodctive year next year.

nolan is probaly the best lineman they have either way.

 

All though Nolan is a very good linemen and has a very bright future in the red jersey i think that later in the season, Josh McCargue was the best linemen defensivley. But its not how good individually a linemen is, it is he man right beside him that makes him good.

Ryan Brandenburg from North Laurel is an animal. Played linebacker and fullback for the jaguars and if he is just a sophomore, he will be a frightening player next season.

just a question, I know Hound82 and know he hasn't missed a Corbin game home or away in over 5 years. I know he wouldn't start now, just wandering what he meant by that, not trying to get anything started at all. If maybe he knew somthing he wanted to share with us.

I was going to get on this thread last week and say Chad Edwards from Russell. He doesn't get much spotlight, but he's a good blocking fullback and very strong defensive end....well, then he brock out and got 166 yards last week
