May 20, 201016 yr There is some comparison to be made between the guerilla tactics used by our founding fathers and modern day terror groups. But, if you want to go that route, at least be intellectually honest. I'd have probably engaged a little more had I been Horowitz. You can debate what the motivation for some of these groups are, whether its freedom like our founding fathers, or a more sinister motive, like the extermination of Israel. But, our founding fathers didn't willingly endanger the civilian population by hiding like cowards in schools, hospitals, houses, etc., for political gain. And, they never sought the extinction of any race or group of people. At least to my knowledge, those statements are true. Whether you believe terrorists are fighting for freedom or not, there's little doubt that exterminating the Jews is a significant motivation as well. The most important lesson to be learned, IMO, is the difficulty in fighting a guerilla war an ocean away. The drain it places on the country is enormous and its an unwinnable war unless you're willing to completely and utterly commit to it. It's a lesson that America apparently hasn't learned. I do not understand what motivates an American to seemingly hate their own country. That's not to say the United States has been morally supreme or flawless in its decisions and actions throughout its existence, but to compare us to evil terrorist groups is absurd.

The teachers that push this tripe should have their certifications revoked. She thinks she's so clever trying to paint Horowitz into a corner by connecting the American patriots with terrorists. No true American patriot hid behind his wife and children or other innocent civilians, For one reason, certain British officers had no reluctance about torching civilian schools and churches in their quest to put down the rebellion. The scene from "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson, in which the British set fire to a locked church filled with Colonists was not a huge stretch by Hollywood. American patriots simply did not willingly place their loved ones in harm's way. Secondly, they were not secretly seeking non-combatant collateral damage to feed the 24/7 worldwide news cycle for less than noble propaganda purposes.
