She is attending Walton.

I heard over the weekend that Taulbee, from Conner, is now at Walton.

She is but her eligibility is in question. They moved but not into the WV school district. Should get interesting.

I hope things work out and she can play. Not only is she an exceptional shooter, but a fine young lady as well!

Here is one of the exceptions to by law 6.

Sec. 2) Discretionary Exceptions for Waiver

a) BONA FIDE CHANGE IN RESIDENCE - The period of ineligibility

may be waived if there has been a bona fi de change in residence

by the parents and student that precedes a student’s change of

schools.

For purposes of this bylaw, a bonafi de change of residence

means the moving of the permanent residence of the entire

family of the student and the student’s parents from one school

district or defi ned school attendance area into another school

district or defi ned school attendance area prior to a change in

enrollment of the student. A student who becomes emancipated

does not have a bona fi de change of residence by virtue of his

or her emancipation and change of residence for purposes of

this bylaw.

She meets these requirements and by this she should be eligible for this season 2010/2011.

I don't think she meets the criteria for eligibility. She moved from one Boone County School Distict School (Conner) to another Boone County School District School (Cooper) and not into the Walton Verona School District. This move occurred during the summer and not during last school year. How does this change of residence make her eligible to play at Walton? It doesn't meet the above guidelines.

Since when does any of this matter? I could make a list of both boys and girls and where they live and where they play. Doesn't seem to matter in this day and age.

I heard that Walton should be hearing something possibly this week or hopefully next week on Taulbee's transfer request. I also heard they are expecting it to be good news.

Great News for Walton!!!! The KHSAA has ruled that Taulbee is eligible immediately.

With or without Taulbee, Walton was a very good but young team last season, adding Taulbee will help make it an even stronger contender. Don't underestimate this coach or these players. I predict they take the Region if they stay healthy.
