Thanks - the school website has a few more games. South Oldham is Jan 22nd, plus there are a few Tournament games listed that are not on the KHSAA Website.

Walton is not scheduled to play them. They picked-up several 9th Region teams instead of playing some of the bigger 8th Region schools. Don't really understand their scheduling.

 

Wouldn't you say as a whole, the ninth region teams are a little stronger.

Walton is not a participating member of the NKCA in regards to scheduling and competing for conference championships. They are only an independent member who receives some individual recognition for special athletes. They are a member of the NCKC (North Central Kentucky Conference) which is comprised of only 8th Region teams. This is where they play for conference championships and have all-conference recognition. There is no benefit of playing 9th Region teams because they will receive no NKCA team recognition. They will still continue to get some individual NKCA recognition like they have over the past several years no matter how many 9th Region teams they play.

Your players may not recieve votes unless the other coaches see them play. Walton had a few girls make the NKCA Team last year.

As Madman pointed out, I was right in my post. The NKCA has absolutely nothing to do with scheduling, so I assumed you must have meant the NKAC, since we were talking about scheduling after all.

I think closer is the main reason Walton schedules 9th region teams. Plus, as stated, Coach Miller is a member of the NKCA and they have post season awards for members.

I think you are totally correct. But, I believe the NKCA awards are televised .
