Walton-Verona 2010/2011

Could it be Ashley Cheesman's parents are taking back legal guardianship of her and she will be returning to Walton?

I believe Ashley is very happy at Ryle, and I doubt that she would ever return to Walton. Walton has not been able to fill the void she left at the point to this point. Hopefully an answer will develop before next December.

Shelby Mullikin is a Freshman and should see some minutes this year. Point Guard is a major concern.

I agree with you time and score. Point guard position should be a major concern, but i don't think it is as of yet.

.

Yes, they will be getting a transfer who is a shooting guard but they need pure point guard. They have one (Mulligan) but seem to be reluctant to give her any playing time. IMO, she is the missing piece to a very talented squad.
IMO they have another one with experience that handles the ball and can get to the basket very well. IDK why she doesn't get many reps at the point

Who is that? Did Walton get another transfer who is a point guard? Didn't know they had another one on the bench!

Exactly my point hard to notice when she's on the bench.

Who is this mysterious point guard that is on the bench? I'm very familiar with the WV team and I know they don't have another point guard sitting on the bench or on the court. Shelby is the only true point guard and she needs to develop quickly.

If you think you know that than your are not as familiar as you think.

I'm very familiar with the team. I know every player on the roster and I know there is no true point guard sitting on the bench other than Shelby. I still would like to know who you think is this non-used point guard? Put a name on the unknown face. It's no secret that the point is going to be a problem for Walton and it will take some time for Shelby to mature. If you know of someone else, please solve this mystery. This could be the missing link for Walton this year.

I am very familiar with Walton and know that there is a girl who will be a sophomore who has played point since she was in kindergarten so I don't know why she can't play it now. I have refereed many of her games at SOAS over the years and IMO she handles the ball well and makes good decisions and sees the floor well. Just one refs viewpoint.

I believe if given the opportunity, Molly Clinkenbeard would be an an excellent job at point guard. She makes very good decisions with the ball and see's the floor very well.

No, no, no, there cannot be trouble in paridise again, can there??? We readers thought the disharmony was over and a thing of the past in WV-land. Please, say it ain't so. I sure hope that "too many chefs" won't spoil the soup this year. Let me say that WV has a very fine group of kids and outstanding coaches -- it would be best if outside observers (fans and parents) will just let them do their thing without any adults stirring things up.

I didn't hear anyone in this thread mention anything about disharmony. I think if you asked any of the coaches they would have the same concerns that have been listed on the thread. It would best if those who don't know what they are talking about would let constructive conversation take place.

Word from down south....WV beat Anderson by 2 earlier today.....

I definitely agree - which is why I made the post in the first place. Great school, great kids, great coaches ... but this is where disharmony begins, when everybody knows the talent, the kids, the scoring averages and W-L record of kindergarten league b-ball ...

Based on the nuclear-hot posts regarding WV just a couple of seasons ago, I just hope it does not happen again. The participants deserve better. Sorry for my ignorance, but I was not aware that you have cornered the market on knowledge. Pardon me, please.

A thousand pardons have been granted. But be more careful in the future.
