I know I'll miss Don.

A sad day...

Doesn't Don go all the way back to Telesat cable? I think it is him doing the play by play of a Superbowl game I played in, then they played it on cable TV, that was awesome! Nobody back in those days could have ever imagined watching themselves playing football on TV.

To be honest, I'll miss Coleman's Legends show more than the highlights.

 

Not me!!! If you did not catch the first 5 minutes you had no idea who he was talking to. I never understood why before and after each "break" he would not state who he was interviewing.

I will miss the guy and his camera hoisted on his shoulder with Mic in hand. He interviewed me in 1988 holding it and asking me to hold the mic while asked me questions. I actually switched from Direct to insight for both the local programming and internet service. This is very disapointing. Charlie Coleman does a great job on his show also. I always tuned in and my wife would just look at me and shake her head like I can't believe you watch that stuff. Lol. Always loved his sign off.... I'm Don Weber saying so long for now!

I hate to see Don's show go. He will be greatly missed. As for the Legends show, it seemed like it was more Legends of Campbell County, at least when I was watching anyway.

I switched to Direct TV because of this last week and the loss of other local programming. These are financial decisions made, I'm sure, by people far away who care nothing about our locality. These programs will never be replaced by something of equal value and are a part of wider dumbing down of our culture. It's not surprising anymore, but terribly sad.

I had trouble figuring out who he was talking to because I had 2 distinct disadvantages, 1) I am to young to "remember" them, 2) I did not grow up in Campbell County.

 

As to my first reason, that is why it was frustrating to watch. I wanted to watch and learn but I could not figure out who he was talking to.

Don did a great job and you could tell he really loved what he was doing.

I echo the thoughts of Trainride and Mustang. Sad day for NKY and thanks to Don for a great job! I hope he gets more time to watch his daughter play!
