Does anyone know if these two will return to their schools next season after the expectations of this season?, especially Hicks, whose teams underachieve more than they should?

To say Hick's teams underachieve is not a fair statement. His teams are always in the Top 10 of the state. People have unrealistic expectations for Coaches and HS players. They are teenagers, who knows what causes them to do things sometimes. Hicks is a great coach and does a great job with his team. The only knock on him is that players move to Scott County to play for him. It puts a bullseye on their back! Did you see how small their crowd was for the semis? YIKES! All that said if I had a son 6'5 and under their is no doubt I would love to have him play for Coach Hicks.

Fraley won the 14th Region with teams like PCC and Hazard right on his heels; and if you didn't notice, KCC played in the Sweet Sixteen! How can you say that going to the state tournament underachieving?

 

Hicks blew out everyone in the 11th Region tournament and made it to Saturday morning and got beat in the final four.

Underachieve? Wow. Just making it to the tournament is an accomplishment that any HS basketball player would want. Even with the talent SC had they did not underachieve.

KCC underchieved! They should have won the region and got down to state and laid an egg. Butler is not very good. They should have made it to final four with the draw they had. jmop

Easy now, just going by what I heard at the state tournament. KCC fans thought they should have easily beaten Butler, Mason County and given SV a run for their money in the final four and well Scott County with the teams they have had over the years,especially this one,which was groomed for a title several years ago. Fraley and Hicks are the best at what they do, not saying that at all.

Congrats to Coach Fraley and KCC on their first trip to the Sweet 16 since 1993. They pulled out a hard fought 6 point win over Letcher Central (on LCC's home court) just to get to the region. Then they get the toughest draw possible, beating the home team Breathitt County by 3 points...survive the semi-finals by 1 point as Hazard misses a last second shot...then overcome a 10 point deficit with 2:30 remaining in the game to beat Perry Central in the championship on two free throws with 1.5 seconds.

 

Tough 4 games just to get to Lexington. I don't understand how this can be considered underacheiving on Coach Fraley's part.

Hicks is one of the best coaches in the state and Scott County will be one of the best teams in the state as long as Billy is there.

Fraley did a good job at KCC. He got them back to the state tourney.
