I hate to hear it, but its understandable.

First let me say I know nothing about the Dunbar situation. I do get tired of coaches and others blaming failure on "poor support". It's about leadership, it's about someone convincing another that hey, this is the direction we are going. Then, that other convincing another. It's about being positive instead of negative. It's about finding ways around the road blocks. It's about never giving up.

 

Some successful programs love to perpetuate the "poor support" thing about their competitors so that their programs look better to middle school players looking at high schools.

 

I don't believe you are being honest with yourself. Dunbar has replaced football and baseball coach in just last few years.

 

Some of the issues at Dunbar can't be discussed on here and shouldn't be. But Fayette Co. in general, does not support there sports programs like you might expect of a Lexington based program.

 

And, Dunbar and Bryan Station are great examples. I also understand that you wont agree with these comments.

Why is Fayette Co having such a turn over in coaches in all sports? Just look at the last 5 years in the city. Coaches leaving, being fired, resigning, whatever. Something is terribly wrong and the sad thing is that the kids are losing out! When was the last time a Lexington school has won the region in basketball? A city school?

The bashing Hundley comment is ridiculous. I've known him most of his life. I thought it awkward of him to apply to coach a school that he left. As far as Hundley getting the best of me, I could have taken him, he was 6 when I played in high school.

I have to agree with this. There are a lot of kids in Lexington getting short-changed on their high school experience...if sports is their thing. Other than Dunbar soccer, which has been stable with Todd Bretz, I can't think of any other schools and sports in Lexington that have had stability although there probably are a few. From my experience, which goes back only about 13 years with PLD, the basketball situation has not been stable. There are a shortage of funds, then those people that provide more financial support believe then that they should have proportional influence. That just doesn't work.
