Great post! Those calls really stuck out to me too, just horrible. I have to give credit to Foster on keeping his composure after being the victim of a couple of those terrible calls.

 

Bad calls or not Foster did a nice job maintaining composure. I don't get to see him often but he really seems to have his act together. And honestly he is almost to fast for me to take a picture of him. Focus, click and he is already gone. Very quick.

Congrats to Newport on IMO their best game this season. They shot well, played good defense and rebounded great in this game. If they can play this well who knows what could happen. This Newport team has great young men who has woked hard to get this far. I wish them the best of luck and hope this dream season takes them all the way to Rupp!

I was at the game and had a great angle on the play; I thought it was a great block; Luther moved toward the defensive man; all ball baby!!

When was the last time a 9th region team won the All "A" and 9th region tournament?

 

I'd assume either 2003 St Henry or 2000 Newcath?

 

Newport certainly has the team to be the next in line to accomplish this feat.

I'm confused as to what you're restless about. 2 regional tournament appearances in a row? And a district championship this year? I'd say things are on the way up.

 

To clear up any confusion, just take some time to personally talk to parents and players that have played for Ryle during the last 4 years, including most on this year's district championship team. You might just learn something, especially as a new poster on BGP - hmmm - interesting content for a second post. And, thanks to paNDA for super photos. And, I am now a Newport Wildcat fan. I agree. Off the court he's actually a pretty quiet kid.

 

I've talked to him 2 or 3 times this year after games and he's always been very soft-spoken.
