Bengals Draft

Featured Replies

I think they are crazy if they don't take May's if he is still on the board. I think WR talent is easier to find later in the draft than a big time safety.

We have had some real success with those late round WRs lately haven't we .My opininon Te in first Wr in second or at least third ,depending on who is still available . If we don't take a WR in the first three roundsd as I hat to say we seriously need to look at TO if we aren't in the Marshall market .This is just my opinion .

Golden Tate. He is a game changer and would definetly give a big boost to the passing game. At the combined he also proved that he has great speed.

I am a Notre Dame fan, but no thanks. Unless he is still there in the third round.

Chris Henry is the only good receiver they got in the Marvin Lewis era. Simpson has been a waste so far, and I think we all are realizing that Caldwell is not as good as we thought he might end up being.

Gresham in the 1st. Trade up a few spots and get Benn in the 2nd. The passing game would be much improved. I don't think Bryant or Haden will be there when they pick.

Bratkowski is the biggest problem in the passing game. We took Coffman last year, so no reason to take Gresham (or any other TE) in the 1st. I don't think there is a WR worth taking (for the Bengals) in the 1st either, but I'm afraid they'll take Golden Tate.

I'm also frightened that they'll take Tate. I'm going to be thoroughly upset if they take him over a taller receiver that can stretch the field a little better.

I can understand the worry about his height but he has always been able to stretch the field.

If the Bengals draft him and he turns into a great receiver, good for him, please, make me look stupid. But just the prototypical #1 type receiver (6'3 220) would make me, and many other fans a little happier and a little more at ease. I don't think it's time to take a risk on a receiver, and to me, Tate seems like a shot in the dark a little bit. But we'll see what happens with him. Maybe he'll be a Steve Smith (Carolina) or maybe he'll be a bust. I don't know.

Well, if they draft him, he'll have Chinny and Crocker with him this season....I'll take those guys over Ellison. :D

True, but he also won't be trying to defend Washington State's WR core either. Dude is absolutely awful in coverage and this is just me, but I wouldn't take him before the middle of the 2nd round. I don't care what his physical attributes are.

:thumb: Bengals nation would be crazy but I think he's the surest WR in the draft. Maybe not a Fitzgerald or Randy Moss, but he'll be a good WR in the NFL IMO.

I hope they do take Tate. One because the Bengals are always on TV here and I'd like to watch him. Two, because I think Bengals fans will be pleasantly surprised.

I know what you are saying. He doesn't have prototypical size but he really knows how to play the ball. Plus he doesn't have to be the number 1 just yet. If the Benglas select him it will give him a chance to mature into a number 1.

And they won't win consistently until they do . Start looking at your teams that win every year and you see a quality TE not a Reggie Kelly .

I guess New England must have missed the memo....

Antonio Gates, Jason Witten, Dallas Clark, Jeremy Shockey, Brent Celek, Visanthe Shiancoe, etc. All on solid playoff teams and all are pretty popular TEs. New England is an exception.

And really after Moss and Welker, New Englands TEs were the most productive recievers. Over 500 yds and 7 TDs.

Yep. Watson used to make lots of plays for them.

New England has a really good TE in Watson IMO. When Welker is catching 115 passes a year, then also having Moss. It doesn't leave much passes to go the TE to have great numbers.
