I believe Henry County's gym opened in 1962. It's hosted EVERY 8th regional tournament since the '63 tournament.

Enjoyed this thread immensely.I first attended a game at the Fieldhouse in the 1965 regional tournament and as a high school kid was totally captivated by it. I don't believe I have missed a regional tourney there since. There are so many memorable wins as well as losses that seem like yesterday. I had the pleasure of taking some of my middle school teams there to play. I really enjoyed the facial expressions as my kids got off the bus and then actually entered the gym. Priceless!!!

I have worked many games in the Fieldhouse including Districts and Regionals and yes I truly love it. I am blessed to have the position that I have and do not take it lightly.

 

Even regular season games there are a treat. I was lucky enough to be there at the scorer's table last year for the new starting lineup intro when they spotlighted the state banners. Very cool.
