It is clear that Mr. Thelan wants the ball more, but that is a natural reaction from a good player who is watching his team struggle to score at other positions.

To quote Boy George.......oh, never mind.

Not between us at all. You're helping me make my point. There is no conspiracy to not get Jake the ball. If he's in position to score, he'll get the ball. If he gets double team tonight, we may see a repeat of his 10 points agasint HC. You may becoming in the middle of Coach L and other posters.

My oh my.........what is going on in Park Hills? Why do people get so wrapped up in points? Maybe they should be more worried about points a player is responsible for, which would include points scored and assists. A player's ppg. average is simply that, an average. He may go some games scoring below his average and some above his average. Every game is different. If Thelen is being doubled, and he is throwing out of it for easy assists, then he is helping his team win the game. Seems like some on here are caught up in nothing but ppg. Last time I checked, basketball was a team sport, and the bottom line in this sport is getting the ball to the open man. Who cares who it is as long as the scoreboard has more points for your team than your opponent at the end of the game. Really.............does anything else matter?

Covcath win's this one rather easily, by 15 or so.

Great post. Covington Catholic did not become one of the best programs in the 9th region because of individual talent.

Don't reply to my post coming at me about this stuff. I'm with you 100%. I'm trying to douse the fires. Don't throw your stuff this way. We've won 16 games this year. I'm trying to debunk the crap about Jake not getting as many touches. I'm not saying it's a problem if Jake only gets 10 points and no one is saying he's not throwing it out for assists. That's the conclusion you jumped to. I'm just saying if HC repeats the way they defended him he's not going to get as many shots as usual. I don't have a problem with that.

Did you really just quote Elton John?

Elton John?

Really?

I now have seen just about everything on BGP:lol:

I get flayed for an Elton John reference and Covcathiradio gets a free pass on George Castanza??? What gives? I could have gone with "All we are saying is give peace a chance." (John Lennon), "Fangs and venom working hard" (Johnny Rotten) or "Wing wang walla walla bing bang." (Olivia Newton-John). I went with the baddest John of the 3. So sue me. :D

I proabably will regret stepping in between KL and CCRadio, but...

I think that everyone can agree that it has been more difficult for Mr. Thelan to get his points over the last few games as teams have focused their defenses on eliminating the easy shots. Mr. Thelan, to his credit, has stepped up and made some good moves inside and has put up some good shots outside (and to be fair he's also put up some ill advised shots from the outside.)

As pressure has increased on Mr. Thelan, Mr. Wellbrock has 'man'ed up' done very well.

The key, I belive, is how will the supporting cast play for the Colonels for the remainder of the season. Mr. Wilson plays with intensity and is not afraid to shoot (good thing!). Mr. Connelly has been shooting hot lately, but he only plays half a game (why I don't know). Those two guys have accounted for the majority of the 'non- Bread-n-Butter' points for CCH for the last two games. Someone else needs to step up, or be allowed to step up.

I was going to say more, but I am just curious as to what you mean by the bolded part above.

Completely misinterpreted my post. I was not coming at you or throwing "stuff" you way. I was simply agreeing with you. I was expressing an opinion. It's obvious the fires are burning hot in Park Hills. I hope the team can overcome any selfish views and move on to the Regional Tournament. Good luck to CCH. :isurrender:
