He'll be on varsity, not sure how much pt he will see though. Ryle has some quality returning players in the OF (Lonkard, K. Donovan, R. Donovan, and Imai) that will make finding playing time out there difficult.

As for Ryle, I am anticipating this being one of their better hitting teams in past years. They have some proven sticks returning in 5 starting positions. I am also of the belief that Peace will be a very strong addition to the lineup this year. And some solid JV bats moving up, but just every other team can legitimately claim that at this point, so I won't base anything on that. But frankly, I'll put Ryle's hitting up against any team in the 9th. Pitching we'll have to wait and see. They have some proven throwers returning and, like most everyone else, some kids that will need to prove themselves on the varsity level. But certainly plenty of reason at this point to think pitching won't be an issue. Maybe not the strength of the team, but not a weakness. Actually, if there is one issue that is a question mark at this point, it could be their defense. There are a couple of spots in which kids need to prove - or improve - themselves defensively.

I was little surprised by your order; more because of couple kids are listed lower than I would've guessed, not because the kids listed higher aren't deserving.

I could probably make a reasonable guess at the order, but will hold off for now. It a safe bet that all of the returning starters will be in the upper part of the lineup. I am 100% certain, however, that Hoskins will not be leading off. :lol:

Wish I knew more about Lloyd. If they don't have something to offer, then the 34th is a very weak district (except Dixie obviously).

 

I like your list except I would put Campbell ahead of CovCath. Brossart could definitely be a factor and jump in the top 10. Not sure how 1 through 4 will end up working out but it sure should be fun to watch!

They dont have terrible pitching. It'll be tough with the loss of Larimore but I still think Bertke, Brilz and Johnson can get the job done on the mound. They have both Colosimos still and they have a stud behind the plate in Cottingham. Why you ask? Who would you put ahead of them?

I don't think there's a distinct difference between the top five teams on my list. They all have good players with returning experience, and at least two good pitchers on each team. There isn't a single dominant pitcher in the region that would separate or carry a team. At the same time, they all have some question marks.

Sorry Champ, very astute observation and thank you for the warm invitation. I struggle sometimes hiding my overzealous passion for Conner, but I didn't realize that my hatred for Dixie was so obvious.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume your post was made entirely in jest. If not, very odd.

 

Conner will have a very solid team this year. They won't be "falling apart" in pre-season or during the regular season. Dixie has received pretty high praise from just about everybody in the various ongoing 9th region threads. All the other teams should do what at this point - cancel the season and proclaim you the regional champs? You'll have a very nice team, led by a strong pitching staff. But if you think your championship is a foregone conclusion, you might be surprised. Word of the day - "humility."
